He replied right away, said it was for a bagged setup, hasn't looked into any lift setups. So I didn't ask anymore questions

Just go long travel. Once you lift it and use to its capabilities, you'll want more. So just go big from the starting

Yeah probably not worth spending the money to find out it wouldn't work, but you could bag it! hehe.. jk

I ended up buying the Downey/Fabtech kit that was for sale, newayz. (dont hate me, I know you guys were interested)

I have just been looking for any and all options as of late, so thought this might be promising... oh well.

@TacoBunny, I pulled the trigger on those Allstar coilover sleeves and my 2nd gen Frontier Bilstein 5100s idea. Thanks once again! I have been reading miata and supra forums for weeks now... lol.

I ordered the TC cross shafts, also. I am in the process of sanding and painting the control arms from the used kit I bought. I also found some cheap coils on ebay that I am going to give a shot, though they may be too low of a spring rate at 450#.

It may seem silly to some to paint these parts and make them look so pretty only to get them dirty and banged up again, but I was more concerned about the corrosion that had set in already. I had a little fun with the color scheme, I know! I have added years back to them at least... sweat equity.

I am about to send the shocks off to bilstein to get them regrooved for the coilover sleeves:

I probably wont ever go long travel. My plans are to swap in 4wd tranny and do a SAS front-end eventually. I just want the added height and offroad capability in the meantime. I am not looking to do anything high speed like jumps or anything.

yeah, but i honestly have seen so many other kit i want and the spring with the kit is supposed to make the ride WAAAAY firmer and im not sure if i could deal with that. The full Kit from AirBagIt is for lifted tacomas and includes Upper and Lowers and looks MUCH beefier. if theyre willing to sell me just lowers i may oull my ad from the marketplace

id go for at least #550 but if you plan on adjusting the coilovers super high the #450 may have been a good call as they (should) keep a nice ride

I got a good deal on them.. like 40 something for both, and I was concerned about stiffness as well. I wanna say I came up with 500# being "performance" with no added weight when I used Ridetech's calculator. I do have a grille-guard, though. I think when you adjust the spring perches higher, you get more preload which is pretty much increased stiffness, so I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it'll work out, or maybe it'll be super bouncy... lol.

That airbagit kit with upper n lowers would be pretty nice with a hired strut bar. But you still won't be able to bolt on a coilover without modifying the lower mounts.

I noticed that too. I doesn't even look like there would be enough clearance for the stock shock setup with eyelet and t-bar. Maybe just bad photos? Some sleeves or bushings and longer bolts that sit on top would work. Other than that drill/cut a hole in the middle of the boxed plate so the eyelet can sit a little below the arm.. like the streetaco plates have.

My truck is red, and I also had some red primer left over, so the decision was made for me. As far as the springs go, I had to talk myself into yellow, but that price had a lot to do with it. I never would have bought yellow otherwise. The silver... well they were close to that before.

It's going to be a few weeks before I can get the shocks back from Bilstein and then find some time to install it all. I am still trying to figure out the top mount part. I am not sure if I can omit using the top perches that came with the Allstar sleeves or not. I got poly spring seats just in case. If I use the perches, though, then I have to put a bump-stop inside the coil to keep the upper perch from smashing on the top of the shock body (I think). I would lose about an inch of compression that way. I also may have to space the top perch away from the coil bucket mount some to keep it from coming in contact with the upper coil bucket. I am really not going to know until I get it all apart, which will be fun. It would def be less painless with a real coilover, since those come with all the top mount adapters you could possibly need.

Looks like your alignment bolts came lose. Probably the shims fell out n that's why you get that movement. Those MF are in an awkward spot to get tight.

    But that's what I'm guessing

Whoa Dude! Did you break or bend your UCA's? What about the cross shafts?

I am about to install my new UCAs, and I have extra cross shafts right now if you end up needing any stock parts...

Thats a huge help man! I honestly will want some new cross shafts, im driving on these ones to and from work because i really have no other way to get there and im definitely not going to try and reuse these. I did pull the trigger on the Upper and Lower Control arms from AirBagIt. The 3" lift kit can be custom made for coils instead of springs and theyre boxed LCAs. How much would you want for the stock cross shafts?

I thought we just had a single cross shaft and not individual alignment bolts

There are 2 bolts that go thru the crosshafts to bolt up to the coil bucket, that's also used for alignment

They are extras that I don't really need, so I am not trying to make a profit or anything. PM me your address, and I'll figure out what shipping is to your location. You pay shipping and they are yours. ;)

I just picked up these bad boys today:militarypress:

Theyre so damn beefy:muscleflexing:, theres no doubt in my mind theyre stronger than the stock ones. They do seem a bit longer than the stock arms as well so it may increase travel but im sure ill see some lift!
    They claim 3" of lift

Its a local place in Mesa AZ its called AIRBAGIT i linked them in the very first post. I was skeptical about the kit but i pulled the trigger and from first impression i have no complaints! Decent Welds, boxed design, and full coilover options and i can even keep my original spring/ shock setup. i paid 900 for the kit but id say its worth it
