That's pretty much how it works. The things that she has to stay on top of is a but overwhelming but she loves it and will do anything to continue. 18 years running for her.

So I'm curious, how many married folks work this shift? Weekend nights especially?

How do you all make that work?

Had a Venza for a loaner once. HATED it! Felt unstable at highway speed, bad blind spots. (I thought the A pillar in the Taco was bad.) And I didn't like the dash setup.

My wife is a stay at home mom so my days off are hers also regardless. When I get home around 0700 she’s up and we have coffee together. She heads out with the kids and I sleep. I’m up late after noon and we have family time, dinner etc, put the kids to bed and off to work.

Maybe a bad apple; we have a ‘15 and it’s very comfortable and stable. I agree with blind spots but you get used to it. Bang for buck at the time it was out best option.

Been with my wife for 9 years, married for 4 and been on nights for about 7 of that. It works better for us since it allows me to be with my family on the weekends.

I’ve had the opportunity many times to go to days but we do a 5/2 and have been working for the state far too long to go back to Tuesday/Wednesday off.

For me, this shift kills about 90% of my family time.

Working 1800-0600 every Thu, Fri, and Sat (into Sunday AM) only gives me a few exhausted hours on Sunday with my wife. We try to go out for dinner Monday or Tuesday nights, but she's been working long hours too so it's been really rough. Throw in working that same 1800-0600 on Wednesday every other week and that cuts it down even more.

I know, first world problems. I just need to rant to someone about it.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Been married 22 years, 13 years of that I spent working over seas working 4 mounts on one off. We managed to survive that so working this DuPont 28 day 12 hour shift is pretty easy on us. Mostly it is just about making time to spend with her when we are off together. She works 8 to 5 M-F and 1/2 day two Saturdays a month. I make sure we have at least one date night a month. Do my best to have lunch & dinner cooked for her on my days off. We split the house work. On my 7 days off each month we try to take a weekend trip somewhere one or the other of us wants to go.

Yeah, I've only been on nights for 7 months now. It's been a pretty rough transition for both the wife and I.

I've been trying to do some of the things you described, and it really does seem to help!

    Alright kids, buckle up!

I'm in a better mood, and I've got my espresso/cafe mocha rocketship to get me started tonight. :burp:

That’s about all that’s keeping me going. Sick as a dog, should be in bed. 6AM can’t come fast enough.

    LOL.

I can't start my night without a large McDonald's coffee with a shot of espresso.

I don't necessarily believe McDonald's coffee is better or worse than any other places you can get a coffee to go, but I can always count on it to taste the same no matter where I travel to.

Gotta say Tim’s has really hit the skids since the Co. sold. Not the same coffee either. I brew my own at home & at work. Hate drinking bad coffee.
