That's what I was wondering. I have read a few of this guys threads and posts. I am starting to think he is just here to stir up shit, but would hate to say that, if he really is just trying to figure shit out.

I’m really trying. Spending 35k to me requires research. I love and always loved tacos and how they look.

What’s interesting, is it was under their “10 worst rated cars” list for 2017. They also have a 2017 and new 2018 “10 worst reliable cars” which the taco is NOT on. I’m wondering if and when they do a 2018 worst cars if it will make it again. Worst rated to me seems better than being on the least reliable list if we’re to give CR any credibility at all.

Actually making “worst car” or “least reliable” would be equally irrelevant considering the real world numbers don’t prove it.

This isn’t 2016 anymore where all we have is conjecture and prediction. The Tacoma is still dominating the class in every sense.

that was my next question. Wouldn’t reliability issues be mostly ironed out by now?

Oh and to the pro grille comments. I really want one but not sure if the 2018 takes the same one with the new TSS?

    What "reliability" issues?

The ones in which a supplier gave them a shitty batch of parts?

Buy an Off-Road for almost the same price as a Sport, get more for your money. I'm also surprised at Consumer Report, as Taco's are legendary!

Good point. Prob just from what I’ve read on here. Is that howling noise still a thing? Last thing I want is a nice new truck making a bunch of random noises!

No dealer has one and I’m getting a good deal. Plus I don’t plan to do serious off roading. And maybe I’m the minority but I like the sport styling, especially with a little lift and beefier tires.

Yes, the factory tires on the sport leave a lot to be desired.

It sounds to me like you already made up your mind and aren't going to buy one. So don't then. Why someone would base their purchase on ONE publications review is beyond me.

That's what I'm getting at. If your gonna spend money on a lift and beefier tires, you might as well enjoy the extra Off-Road options thrown in, like a Rear Locker and Crawl Control and beefier tires. It's just good to have for the same price.

But I hear ya, If you like the Sport model, your not in the minority!

Beefier as in beefier than the stock OR. I’m probably going to see the wait to get an OR in at the dealer today. If it’s not too long maybe I’ll switch to the OR.

Can someone say if the MT 2018s still have issues like howling?

Then please go buy a Ridgeline and leave us in our misery of unreliability and bone jarring rides. For what it’s worth, I actually do like the Ridgelines for what they are.

    See ya.

Is it a warranty fix if you do get it?
