Yeah, I have that weird clunk too. Feels like a hard disengage of something. Is it possible that due to the increase torque down low it is more apparent than before?

    Good to hear man!

Yeah that clunk on lift was quite bad in one of the test files Mat sent me - he said it was an enhancement put in for the auto trucks, something to do with throttle open/close rate. He removed/dialed it back for the final test file but it's still there slightly.

The rpms do jump slightly at idle. I also tried a short run in 4lo 1st gear, brought the truck up to about 1200 rpm and kept my foot steady on the pedal. You can feel the engine jumping ever so slightly - very quick, short surges. It wasn't the terrain, I was on a flat gravel road.

Edit: HVAC controls turned off, going straight, no brake application - so no RPM bump for AC, power steering or brake booster.

Not the clunk, the very mild spike in rpm when at idle. My Rpms go up and down stock when my ac is on and im at a stop/parked/idle

I get you, and that's what I meant. The jump in rpm at idle in my truck is not being caused by AC. It's there with HVAC controls turned off. 1.03 M/T test tune did not do this.

I'm not bringing these things up just to be heard or to incessantly complain. I'm trying to provide feedback and data points that others (including Mat) can use.

Anyone notice that while the truck is idling and stationary if you give the steering wheel a pull and release in either direction the rpms will rise around 300 then back to normal. I know it's used to compensate for the load on the ps pumps but I didn't notice that on the stock tune.

Yeah it does that, but I think it did it stock as well IIRC (not 100% sure).

Curious - for those reporting the touchy throttle, any themes? For example are folks finding the 87 vs 91 tunes more/less touchy which could speak to the impact of timing advance?

...hanging with my 5 month old daughter while Mom sleeps in, with my freshly flashed truck sitting in the garage... so curiosity looms in the meantime!

Can't speak for the 87. Mines a bit touchy with the 91 tune.

SO.. who is in Mat's neighborhood that can lend him their truck for a day?

It's obvious that these few minor adjustments will require a M/T rig to sort out.

    ANYONE? BEULLER? lol

I'd be there in a flash.. :anonymous:.. but I'm a few thousand miles away and my passport has expired.

I’m on 87. Truck feels better than the previous 1.03 91 tune. Throttle feels like I’m back in a sports car. It’s responsive, and to me is a night and day difference from stock.

Same. I’m in the middle of the US. I got no excuses other than it’s a long trip and drive.

If you guys have the idle going up and down the idle learning isn't done. Easiest way to have it set is let the truck sit from cold idle for 10 mins and don't touch anything

I will have a milder throttle version

OK will do on the idle thing. I usually take off in less than 2 minutes after starting, cause gas ain't cheap and this thing chugs it when cold.

Will the milder throttle version be a test map or just another optional file in the full release?

I mean you could lest us test a mild throttle version thru flash manager..

Anyway, as always thanks for the support Mat.
