Why not just add *gasp* 1/4” spacers?

Fair enough. Is it possible to do the no spring compressor method where you put a jack under the LCA?

texted my friend who owns the shop and he said it would be possible to compress the spring and slide it to the second notch and I wouldn't need an alignment if we didn't mess with the UCA and where its not a drastic change in height

Lol, no not for what the OP is trying to do and that's total hack btw, don't do it. If your truck isn't heavy enough or the spring too stiff it doesn't work anyway.

And to the OP, don't be a hack either. Take the shock out and do it right

For you guys going through this headache of adjustments, do you not regret getting the “easy” to adjust Fox 2.0 instead?

I think you’re catching on. Yes a hack for sure and wouldn’t work but a lot less dangerous than putting a spring compressor on an installed shock and trying to move the clip as the OP is intending to do. Did you read the first post? At least the hack would force him to remove the shock and put it back together in some safer way. Lol

The spring bucket drops pretty far over the ring. I can't imagine getting enough clearance. I've done 5100s at least 4 times. I'd pull it out, compress the spring, remove the mounting plate, and make the adjustments the safe way.

@Justyn98 , please video your friend doing this. If there's a way to do it safely, TW would benefit greatly from your video. If it goes south...we REALLY want to see it!

People do it this way with the Fox shocks on the gen 1 raptor. You’d have to compress the spring a lot though.

The lift you get will be double the thickness of the spacer. I have 1/2" spacers on top of my 5100s with 885 coils.

When it comes to a top plate spacer you will get double the spacer thickness in height change.
    1/4 = 1/2”. 1/2” = 1”, and so on....like Pigpen said

This video could go a few ways; a good instructional, America’s Funniest Home Videos, or Liveleak. Either way I think I’d watch it..

I ordered a 1 inch spacer from summit, which should level the front out without sacrificing ride or changing preload
