Hey guys it looks like it's time for my first brake pad job on the truck and I was hoping some one on here could teach me how to do it because I really want to start doing my own service. OK the real reason I want to learn is because I can't AFFORD TO PAY FOR IT ANYMORE! haha well if anyone is willing to help me out I can provide my street beer and some chow... or if anyone would rather me go to them I'm also willing to do that as well.
thanks guys Let me know if you can help :D

Word. Brake pads are cheap, and service is way too damn expensive. Back in the day, when I was a dumbass and knew nothing about cars, I paid $380 for a brake pad change and one new rotor. FML.

When I was 16, my first car needed brakes (bad wheel cylinder). I paid a guy to redo my brakes. We did it in his yard. I watched and helped. That lesson was worth every penny I paid him. Never had to pay anyone to do my brakes again.

Well I'm 21 born and raised 10 min from the mexico border... soo I've always gone to Tijuana and got mine done for about $45 but I want to just learn how to do it myself......

thanks for the thread on how to do it but I really want to have someone who knows how to do it with me so they can tell me if I do something wrong before I mess up the truck or cause myself brake failure!

Always...... Only do one wheel at a time so you can look at the other side to see how it's supposed to look.

    back to bone stock.

wow..how bad do the brakes need to be, for them to "slip"? pad material is gone? if so, the brake jobs enters an new area. not much more difficult..just more work.
