The truck is relatively high off the ground already since I have the large tires and PreRunner suspension, tempted to get that CBI weld yourself bumper or just shell the money for a Relentless Fab Predator bumper.

For suspension, it's all made relative sense to me besides the OME coils. The 881, 882, and 883. I could never find info on what coil spring you're supposed to use. Any advice?

Ah, you noticed my lack of rear bump stops. Not yet, but because of the rearward angle of the shocks, they won't bottom out until severely damaging other stuff (read not possible without tires eating up a lot of sheetmetal). It's on the list of summer mods after cutting out the fenders, tubbing and building a trac bar.

Stock springs will not like bumper weight, you'll have sag, that's why I suggested skids and sliders first.

    Is this relatively high...

That is stock in that picture, any weight would have sagged it below the concrete haha.

I'd ask the Wheeler's Off-Road staff about the coil weights, they know their best application

that's about the height I have - I say relatively high in comparison to my 5-lug for obvious reasons

I'd hold off on a bumper until you get some more weight resistant suspension but the other armor is a good idea and will probably help just as much as a lift for most trails.

I'm totally find with my grille guard for now... I might just drop the money on a good suspension lift. What's the highest I can go without needing new UCA's?

So in your opinion those OME Nitrocharges are the best route? Don't know if I have the cash to do full Dakars so I'm thinking AAL.

Yeah the Nitrochargers pair much better with the OME coils than the Billies do. The billies are only popular because they let you cheaply overlift (preload) your springs. An aal is okay but I'd get a progressive AAL like the Icon ones or something similar cause the single leaf AALs usually ride rough.

    disagree actually.

Nitrochargers are valved on the stiff side. Billies are softer and digressive. The 5100s will be more comfortable then the nitrochargers. However..its not joke that 5100s will not last as long in terms a seal life.

    @BartMaster1234

881s and 883 are the same free coil height. 881s have a 550lb spring rate and 883s have a 590. Id not go for the 883s without a bumper and winch.

882s are 10mm taller then 881s free standing height but the same spring rate.

@StarLord actually has run ALL 3 and has a great comparison on the 3. I believe he ended up preferring 882s. He has a plate bumper and winch and skids though.

881s would be what i suggest to start with with no bumper.

I don't know if I want to buy a new suspension setup and buy new springs when I eventually get a new bumper. Would it be a bad idea if I went 882 with the stock bumper for now until I do get armor?

I think he'd need to spend even more money to make coilovers springs work for him haha

My plan right now, if possible, is to buy a suspension setup that will give me at least a 2-2.5 inch lift and be ready to go for armor - but be usable for now with the stock bumper

Used coilovers could probably get you there, find some with 600lb coils and get your armor on soon
