Thanks St.Germain....Do you have any more details as to how it was done ? It would mean a lot as I’ve called one the most reputable upholstery shops here in the Vancouver area and they have never done it and say it might not work, but if I present them with your success and how your shop did it maybe hey will try it out, is the cushion still comfortable ?
How many inches do you feel like it dropped you? Also is there a space now between your back rest and the seat cushion?
    thanks a lot again man.

Pacific trim, they have raised seats before but never lowered, if you know some one who has maybe it’s best I go to them first eh?

yeah I've been asked about this one quite a bit. let me just copy-paste a reply i had for a guy via PM here...

    "
man i used to live in Seattle and built a crazy custom car there... but i did not do the seats on that one!

i would first look on the net obviously. there are race car setup folks who do custom seats but that is overkill. what you need is someone who can respect your current seats and not destroy them which is why i recommend an upholstery shop. you may want to call around and see if they've done it before. but race car or street race performance shops may have experience. just watch out they can also be butchers.

with mine i didn't need measuring. i wanted maximum foam removed. at the center of the bucket circle it's basically no foam and progressively up from there going outward. i was having a numb right leg (I'm in a MT truck) after 90 minutes and a really painful driving experience. this dropped me about 1-1½" and really let me sink into the seat and it fixed all the discomforts. it's perfectly comfortable now, although I'd still like to sit lower, there's just no place to go.

make sure they remove the seat and carve from the bottom. adding low density foam after to take up slack is optional.

I’m 6’1 and I’ll admit, it’s kind of hard to drink the rest of the chips in the potato chip bag while driving.

Just thinking out loud here but, if the objective is to lower the seat height you could go with smaller wheels and lower profile tires, that ought to do it. If you want to lower only the driver's seat just do that side.

I’m totally happy with it honestly. Had it since October 2015. Just did the suspension last night and wheels and tires this morning actually.

I won't buy one until there's an adjustment. My 2nd gen was never a good fit for my 6ft frame.

Friend on mine has re shaped the seat foam for snowmobile seats & we are going to try shaving off the seat cushion on my truck. I believe if I can get about a inch lower in the rear of the seat cushion it will be much more comfortable.

I will be buying a new seat cushion too modify then install it.

I am 6' 7", and the top of my head sits in the sunroof....seriously. Otherwise I have to drive with my head tilted.

Looking for a solution also, as I love the truck.

You're 6'7 and bought a truck with a sunroof? I'm 6'1 and ruled it out after sitting in one for a few minutes. Dang, I think it's going to take serious modification. Good luck

Yeah, its definitely interesting getting in. It has the step bar, and that is no help getting in as the foot part is right at the floor of the truck. Plan is to get a step bar that actually works.

My wife is 5'4" and she has no issues getting in and driving.

I contemplated the premium package, after realizing I didn't fit with the sunroof. I spoke with my local upholstery shop that specializes in this. They'll remove some seat foam. I only needed an inch removed to satisfy me. He warned that an inch may cause new to feel the springs in the seat, I decided to just not mess with it at all. 6-6, you're going to need lots to happen. You may want to contact a local shop that specializes and see what they say. I can't remember if there is any good solutions in this thread.

There's a chance you're better off selling and getting a non sunroof truck. Good luck to you.

Just found out about these guys for the focus rs. Maybe there is a North American manufacturer who will do something similar for us?

    Why surprised?
At 6'7" is less air that at 6'1". Asphyxia impairs judgement...
I am 6'3" and fit OK.
