Have fun! Take pics even if you're drunk. Those might be good.

This was my first beer with ginger. Not sure if it mellowed with time or the temp affected it, but it was mellow to me

So I hit my IPA keg with 2 oz each of Galaxy and Vic Secret around mid-day yesterday. Apparently, that did the trick, 'cause it's a hazy juice bomb now!

    Sweet!

How’d you add the hops? Pellets in a bag?

I used to add whole hops to my kegs when my buddy used to grow them but I’ve never tried with pellet.

Heard of stories of the hop pellets getting stuck in the dip tube.

Anyway if you have a good method I have an ounce of centennial crying to be added!

Yes, pellets in a bag. I sanitized the hop sack, and added the hops. Dropped the pressure on the regulator to 1-2 PSI and locked open the pressure-relief valve on the keg so I had CO2 flowing the whole time while I opened the keg, dropped the hops in and then buttoned it back up. Before I dropped the hops in, I kinda twisted up the bag and wadded it into sort of a ball to try to get as much O2 out of it as I could. I also have a block of stainless steel that I put into the sack to help weigh it down, so it pretty much dropped right to the bottom of the keg once I let it go.

Brewing today. With spring right around the corner, I thought I would brew up an easy drinking lawnmower beer: a dry hopped session wheat. I'll ferment it with Conan yeast collected from the fermenter after I transferred the IPA.

Any suggestions on a good five gallon equipment kit? I’ve been brewing with a fairly basic one gallon setup for a few years and want to step it up a bit. Brewing a simple Brooklyn Brew Shop Summer Wheat kit right now.
