Got a really clean 1992 4Runner at my house right now that needs a motor anyways. Would be the perfect candidate. $1000. Thing is super clean

Not sure where you're located/how far you're willing to drive but I had Bothell Toyota Specialists do the timing belt on my 4runner right after I got it before I was willing to tear into it. They were quick, used toyota/lexus parts, and didn't push hard to do extra work I didn't ask for. 4 years later haven't had any issues nor noticed anything that looks like they cut any corners. A bit expensive when I called to ask them to do the brakes/rotors on my old lexus when I was feeling lazy and flush with cash, so I ended up doing that myself. Though I would have trusted them. Supposedly former toyota techs that left to start their own business, how true that is is anybody's guess.

Oil changes, incremental service, etc. Lexus of smellvue upsells her on shit all the time and they break or forget stuff. Almost every time shes gone there theyve made some kind of mistake and shes had to take it back. And oh lawd the prices. Shes cashing in her last two free oil changes and never going back.

Its things like that that make wish I 1) had a full fledged scan tool 2) had access to the pro wiring diagrams and code setting criteria and 3) had the knowledge on how to properly test connection

$2k plus is just to much for me to spend though lol

@Nimitz talk to Ross Fahlen at Lexus of Bellevue. I won't go in there for service on days he's not working.

Or, if you want to drive to Lexus of Seattle, Travis Willoughby will also take good care of you. Won't he @Tayoflor ???

I am willing to pay the premium to have the dealer do the service. However, I don't mess around with upsell crap. Miss. Me. With. That.

What are they trying to upsell you on? Honestly I think we do a pretty good job not trying to sell people stuff they don't need. We generally all go by the thought " would I fix this on my own rig"? We have a much smaller team and not nearly as fancy facility as Bellevue but most of our guys have been there for 10+ years. If you wanna give ole LOS a try, like @AWilson013 said, come see Travis W at the service desk and we can get you hooked up with a good tech

I had a snorkel when I bought it, had to fix the deck plate as the cover was missing?!? wtf?

New tires in August 2017, 285/70-17 MT/R just in time for Moab in October 2017.

    2 conclusions from today:
    1) Cooper ST Maxx are a way better tire than falken wildpeak at3w’s in the snow and ice.
    2) CB’s suck and everyone should get the Chinese equivalent to the handheld rugged radio since it’s way better. And cheaper.

It was crazy how much better mine were. We even switched cars and I was sliding so much more in his at slow speeds compared to mine. Also my tread stayed completely clear and his got clogged up with snow, he still had traction but wasn’t clear.

Well, looks like I am keeping the FNs for a while, I dig the way they look. Also managed to get a passable fit for my Wet Okole's from the 2nd gen to third. Hopefully Weathertech can get off their butts and make a passenger side mat for the '18s because the Toyota "all weather" suck!!!!

Can you show some pictures of the seat covers? Catskinz post up deals on third gens but not second gens, I'd like to see fitment issues beforehand if possible

It would be tough to get a good picture. The seat back is slightly beefier on the third gen and the seat base is slightly smaller on the third gen. I was able to stretch the seat back cover to look right, I had to put a good amount of tension on the seat base to get it to look right. With the neoprene being so flexible it was pretty easy to get them to look right. I have never messed with Catskinz before so I can't say how well they would adapt from a third gen pattern to a second gen truck. I can try and get pictures, but the way I have them on there it would be hard to tell what I did to get them to fit in a way that made me comfortable.
