Lol. I give up. This is one of the most frustrating ways of tuning a vehicle.

Got 100 miles in today. Will report more as I get more miles but so far this is the best my truck has - and likely will - ever run... The dance isn’t gone but it’s very predictable and you can easily modulate gear changes with the skinny pedal. Takes a bit to get used to at first but it (finally) puts the driver in control IMHO with more usable power in the 2k range, and I could cruise on the highway at 75 in 6th at about 1800 rpms, yes if I wanted to accelerate much it would drop to 5th but the transition is very smooth and because you have usable power in that range it feels more natural.

Harmonics - these trucks all have some level of harmonic vibrations in the 2-2200 rpm range. This has always been an annoyance and I’ve done several things to drastically reduce them but nothing compares to having your cruising speed on the highway also being a smooth range for the rest of the truck!

I never saw it go to 6th unless on the highway at higher speeds - I love this, living in a city band often driving on roads I’d prefer to be locked in 4th... sometimes it did go to 5th in the 45 mph range but generally due to coasting down a hill.

    @OVTune thanks man

Make certain that you are using the correct version of Toyota Flash Manager. At the bottom of the window, the version will be listed. It should read "TOYOTA FLASH MANAGER V1.02Beta"

I got it, but that's good to know. The only other things I use that laptop for require Internet Exploder. Adding Chrome to it now though.

It's crazy I test all software, downloads, I test it like I am the user and have not seen a single software issue you guys get lol. I don't even understand how the flash manager is downloading as a non EXE I download it and it works right away.

The only difference I guess is I don't have any stupid blockers like
    Mcaffe
    Norton
    Windows defender
    Etc

And I tested on two laptops, Windows 7 and windows 10.

This old Windows 7 laptop I'm using has had some stupid issues in the past, so its more than likely the laptop. A while back, I had to have a friend who is a Microsoft employee take it for a few days so he could figure out why it was so bogged down. Thanks to those who helped, Windows is not my friend! I'm all Apple.

Yeah when I finally got my computer running Windows 10 the first thing I did was download chrome and make it the default. I get what MS is trying to do to protect you from some of the crap people download but Edge sucks! Being a Mac guy for like 10 years now I don't feel like I can get anything done on Windows.

I think it's fair to assume that it's user/user equipment and software related.

Fyi....McAfee is the worst. We use that junk at work....always flagging the minutia and hindering work flow.

It's because they are using Internet Explorer to download the file. It doesn't recognize the file as an exe due to the way it's linked. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to recommend them to either download using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

Did you test for Windows 3.1? I have this old ass laptop that is my workhorse and just works. Not willing to waste money to buy me another Windoze machine. :D:D:D:D:D

Update: @MOC221_ helped me out with bypassing the windows 'signature check' for the drivers. Sent my file off to @OVTune, hopefully he's not burnt for the evening and I can get a license turn around ;)
