I think he is implying the lack of understanding the terminology. He just needs to read through this thread to educate himself ...

 

I'd have to agree.. it seems like a lot of issues are either Internet Explorer or security program related (them not being shut off all the way). Chrome all the way!! Even without the tune I'd say don't ever use IE.. Windows 10 and Chrome here and I've had no issues throughout 1.02 and now 1.03.

 

Browsing, wanting to pull the trigger, hoping this will be the grail that ends my frustrations with this truck.

I've been following along best I can.

 

FWIW I used Microsoft Edge on $140 windows machine and have never had any issues with flash manager or reading/writing the files to/from the ECU

Also have disabled windows defender, firewall and any other security

 

It's really not as complicated as it seems.. The most difficult part is part is getting a coherent set of instructions . . .

Concur. Print the instructions. Highlight the action items. The information is in there, but the format needs some work. Mat’s tuning skills are on point, but he could definitely use an editor.

 

I think it's probably spelled out well in the _V2 instructions linked in the first post. But that's if you have no issues with drivers etc.

 

He updated the first page of this thread with instructions and all downloads.

My issue was absolutely user equipment. Internet Explorer caused the Flash Manager file to download into some oddball file format. Just for the hell of it, I used Chrome to download the same file from the same link and it worked perfectly the first time. Live and learn I guess. I'm so far out of the Windows loop that something that simple never crossed my mind.

Like it or not, but IE is pretty much a whipped pony these days. Chrome is the goto.

 

Maybe in simple terms:
ECU = engine computer
TCU = transmission computer
Flash = writing a new file to the ECU and/or TCU. When you flash your Tacoma, you're replacing the stock ECU/TCU maps with OVT maps
Flash Manager = the program or application used to download the OVT files to flash your ECU/TCU.

2.6 of 2.8gb loaded on the video. Need to add the OBD fusion over lay and some text of what I’m doing.

 

Ok I was able to download the 87 octane file and the original file to my laptop no issues.
The 91 octane file for what ever reason is not downloading. It says it is but the status bar doesn’t move and the file in my downloads is 0.0mb. Anyone want to offer some assistance.
