Stolen from another thread. There's a relay that I can't find anything about on the back of the cluster.

Tried looking through the FSM, but can't find anything.

Circuit Board Relay - Toyota (83271-04020)

It's the tiny white box just below the second connector

I'm diagnosing a cruise control code and an ABS light that doesn't show any codes. Wondering if it has anything to do with either, more wondering if it's causing the ABS to not show a code and just stay on during diagnostic

    12. Followed the FSM so far, fuse and stop light switch are good. Gotta inspect the wiring.

Both sides of the stop light switch are good?

If by both sides, you mean the released and depressed positions, yes

So no codes when you put the ABS in diag mode by shorting the pins?

in the gauge cluster wiring diagram the only relay shown is for the bulb check.

Nope. Just remains on. Cruise control blinks for a "12" code. That's it.

I can't find a short between the gauge fuse and the ABS module (like the FSM suggests). I can't imagine the ABS ECU needs replaced. Pretty sure it works, but havent tried to lock em up

Well, that relay is definitely in the wiring of the cluster. Unfortunately, can't find anything in the FSM showing it. I can measure continuity to different points from the relay to the board.

All your grounds good? Beyond that i'm stumped. ABS and Cruise light are original type or LED's?

I believe so. I'll mess around with it tomorrow to determine more.

    The light bulbs are original.

10' stake bed (with frame stretch) which includes true 1998 Toyota full floating axle dually including seven dually wheels and front hub adapters (5 lug to dually 6 lug). Power windows, keyless access, rear camera and windshield mounted mirror/monitor. Overhead aftermarket console holding Bluetooth microphone, police style map light plus two dome lights and glasses case and garage remote. Automatic antenna with defeat switch. Dash mounted switches to turn on radio without key in ignition, switch to turn on LED strip lighting in foot wells, glove box and behind seat. Complete coverage of sound deadening of cab. Component speaker system with 'mechless' Kenwood double din Bluetooth radio . Unusual tweeter positioning on either side of steering wheel.
I'll take a guess what the relay is, but I'm stumped by it too. Imagine you had EVERY possible 'accessory' made for a toyota and they all have some kind of warning light filling all those empty places in your combination meter. The meter relay is there to add more amps for that extra stuff's monitoring. It's a guess is all. My stripped cheap Tacoma doesn't need it but I got one with an RPM speedo that I'm replacing my speedo only. My wiring harness plugs have a lot of missing pins, and at least one of them dead ends whatever that relay wants to do.
