Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... My thoughts EXACTLY ... you took my words ... lol

Maybe you uncovered the first ... "COPO Pontiac" ...

IIRC, Pontiac had a "Police Special Package" back then and they had "Goodyear Blue Steaks" and "Goodyear Police Special" labeled tires on them with those wheels.

i had both .. the GY Blue streaks had a small Blue Line on them (like the OEM Red Tiger Paws) and the GY Police Specials were BSW tires with a little bigger diameter.

My GTO had the Rally Wheels with small caps (not those caps) and the trim rings.

Good find on an unusual car ...

Probably just the base hubcap that the smart buyers went with when they were gonna replace them with aftermarket anyway. An option Toyota should do to save a few bucks for the buyer now.

Lots of Mopars are restored to build sheet and that means lots of these poverty hub caps at shows. Actually common across all makes.

Yes, those are just the base wheels with "poverty caps."

Throw on some black American Racing wheels wrapped in BFG Mud-Terrains, and paint all of the chrome trim black, and there might be some hope...

Seriously, what the hell were they thinking?!?!

This 1988 Comanche Laredo is one of the nicest examples of the last Jeep pickup I've ever seen (production ended in 1992 for those who didn't know)...

However, one dealbreaker for me would be this truck's lack of air-conditioning! This Comanche is quite loaded. In addition to being a long bed (which obviously cost more than the short bed), it also has 4-wheel drive (yes, 4x4 was an extra-cost option on a Jeep!) and the upgraded Laredo trim package. It has tilt steering, intermittent wipers, power windows, and power locks. It also has the venerable 4.0L I-6 (much more expensive than the standard 2.5L I-4) and automatic transmission (5-speed stick was standard on 4.0L models; obviously more expensive)...

    This begs the question...

Why did the original owner (99% sure it's not the guy who owned it at the time the pictures were taken) shell out out all that money for 4WD, a longer bed, upgraded trim, a bigger engine, an automatic transmission, and even more "luxury" features than my Tacoma has, but not spend the extra money for air-conditioning and AM/FM cassette? If you look closely at the dashboard, you will see the HVAC controls circled in red, and you will also see that this Jeep just has an AM/FM stereo. Even in 1991-1992, a radio was an extra-cost option on base model Comanches. Unlike the Chevy S-10 and GMC Sonoma, which had an AM radio standard across the board (extra-cost on the cheapest models, with radio delete being standard on those), the cheapest radio option on the Comanche was at least an AM/FM radio...

Look closely at the center of the dash. You will see that this Jeep DOES NOT have air-conditioning, and also has a basic AM/FM radio...
