Did dealership screw up rear alignment during frame swap?

Truck has been vibrating at 50-60 mph. At first I thought maybe it was just a tire balance issue, but I've noticed that the rear wheel on the passenger rear looks like its turned inward. Drivers side looks a little off as well, but not as much as the passenger side. I know very little about suspension. Any idea what this could be? Or am I just crazy? I'm working on getting pictures uploaded. Thanks in advance!

 

What did the dealer say?

 

Haven't contacted them yet. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on what it could be. Don't want them charging me a diagnostic if I'm way off on it. It's been about a month since the swap.

 

Sounds like a bent axle. No rear adjustments for alignment.

 

So, here's a picture straight on from the back. Pretty sure it wasnt like this before swap.

 

Kind of hard to see, but if you look at the lower inside part of the tire it looks turned in. Not like that on the other side

 

I'm not seeing it. Are your tires wearing oddly or is it not driving straight? Have someone follow you to see if it is crabbing sideways.

Have the Dealer Re-Check alignment. It's possible the leaf springs aren't set right to the axle or frame or have shifted. Likelihood of bent axle is slim unless you are jumping the truck or flat out abusing it. some alignment shops check for free.

 

They can check that the rear is in alignment but there's no settings as such. As the other guys have mentioned something bent or broken can cause the rear geometry to be wrong but if that is the case then you have to actually fix something.

Bent axle is one issue, a broken leaf spring or centering pin, bent shackle, etc. A common reason for a rear axle to be wrong after suspension work is installing a leaf spring pack backwards, they aren't symmetrical front-to-rear.

Is the wheel at basically a right angle relatively to the axle? A collapsed spring perhaps?

 

Get an alignment printout

 

Go there first before asking if they did something wrong.

 

Maybe try measuring from the shackle bolt to the axle on each side to verify the distance is the same.

 

Maybe the center pin is not even in its seat

 

Have you already done wheel check 101 and made sure the wheel and lugs are mounted evenly on the studs?

 

He should easily be able too figure out the problem by measuring and just looking at the truck.
