Id say go for it if you like the truck. I got a 09 last year and really like it. After a year and almost 18,000 miles on it including a road trip to NC from NY I have no complaints. Other then I want to spend money on accessories I dont really need.

Thanks so much for all the advice. If all goes well I should be able to come back next weekend with pics after she's mine .
About the sleeping in the back that's a great point I need to consider. I'm 6' I need to check the length of the short and long beds to compare.

Yeah I kinda like the look of the scoop as silly as that sounds lol. But I'm not sure what rear lockers are to be completely honest. What are the pros and cons of not having them? What is the sport package compared to other options?

There seems to be a wealth of opinions on this -

Prerunner = 2WD and 240K miles makes it a no go IMO. Note- I live in northern Rockies and work at a ski resort so 4WD is a must for me.

Price is about right. Fact that it comes from the south east makes it a really good deal. If it lived in the south all its life it is unlikely to have seen a ton of salt. I’ve camped off the back of a short bed before. Not bad if you keep tail gate down and you are dessert camping like I was then. Good luck!

My advice, buy for the future. Don’t skimp cause you may regret it.

I bought my 2010 brand new, and at the time I didn’t need a double cab or a long bed. All I really wanted was a prerunner cause I liked how they looked and the scoop on the sport trd edition. I looked at one for only $20k brand new. After further research I looked at higher priced tacomas with the double cab and long bed, and at the time was planning on keeping the truck until it died or I died.

I ended up going all out and paying $27k for my Prerunner doublecab LB TRD Sport. Amp dam so glad I sprung for the extras as over the years I’ve been in situations that I needed the extra space in the cab and the bed. Best quote I’ve ever heard and truly live by is “ it only hurts once” when paying for something that is a quality product but expensive ( at that time). Granted now, after all these years seeing how the these trucks maintain their value, this was the best purchase I’ve ever made.
