    I have no idea why they make most dehydrators rounded. Square would be way more efficient. I may take a trip across town to CAL Ranch today and look at their dehydrators again. They have square ones and bigger units so I can put up more product so I don't have to run as often.

    Probably has to do with the efficiency and "eveness" of the airflow. I would imagine the corners wouldn't dry at the same rate as the center.

    Of course, you could prep all 5 lbs at once and freeze what doesn't fit your machine. Then you wouldn't have to knead and squeeze your meat as often...

    I’m really glad I got mine even though it’s kinda round.
    It has the display and temp control. Not low ,med ,high. 5 degrees can make a difference.

    square ones are kind of a new thing.were round for years.Gardenmaster was one of the best but new square ones are suppose to be more efficent and dry better
