Replacing 3rd Gen JBL Sub Enclosure, What's Involved?

I tried searching but haven't found much, especially for 3rd gens. Basically, I'm unhappy with the space that the JBL sub takes up, I want to actually utilize the storage space behind the seats.

What would be involved/required in order to remove the JBL sub and replace it with an under the seat sub under the front passenger seat?

Obviously, I'd need the trim panel from a non-JBL double cab, but is there any other trick or something preventing me from doing so? I'm not impressed by the factory sub either, so I KNOW i can get something better, though space is my primary concern.

 

Wheres the factory amp located?

 

I haven't taken the rear panels off yet, but based on pictures I've seen online it looks like the amp is attached to the subwoofer enclosure.

Since I've found nothing via google and aren't getting a whole lot of input here, I'm guessing I'll have to just dig in and see what I can do. The thought of having that storage space back is very exciting for me as I currently have nowhere to store my GHB and don't want to leave it out in the open on the floor or seat.

 

If its like the 2nd gens, you'll have to relocate theamp thats attached to the sub. Pretty sure you wont be able to use the non jbl panels with that amp in the way.

 

Does that amp power the door speakers? If not, why would I need to retain that amp?

Well that kind of sucks. So not only would I have to replace the sub but would have to figure out a new 4 channel amp, that is not something I really want to do.
