Is your truck stock suspension? If so, you get rub at all? This is perfect timing b/c I'm about to pull the trigger on a set as well. Looks good.

You are modifying the behavior of the harness and when the power is available to turn on the fogs. The correct way is to isolate that harness completely in a less rigged way than the jumper method.

Took her out camping this weekend! Really need to do some research into the best ways to transport a kayak, while this method did the job, it did feel pretty sketchy about an hour into my 1.5 hour drive.

Thought I was going to go the jumper method and now you are suggesting no?? My problem thus far has been to match another 2011's wiring. Its a little different.

I actually have the Mirror with the Back up camera too. I had to attach the riser bracket to the window and then feed the mirror over the bracket while tucking the top part of the bracket, where the wires clip to, under the head liner. it took 10 min or so to get it how i liked it. There is actually about 1.5" of the mirror bracket that you don't need any more and i thought about cutting it off but since i was able to feed it under the head liner, without it bulging out or something, i just left it on there. The wires do hang out in the open now that i raised it up. because the plastic pieces that cover them are useless now (although ill hang on to them) the only place that you can see the wires is the passanger seat if you lean forward. not visible from the outside, window is dark around mirror, and the driver can't see it. I might wrap the white plastic clip with electrical tape. If you would like a pic let me know ill have to get on my phone and send it.

I showed my buddy last night and after 2 min of the conversation he was like, i don't understand which part you added. looks factory if you don't know any better.'

The jumper method works. There is always a best practice. The jumper method just provides power to the fog light system at all times where in stock for it is only when the headlights are on (this explanation is very simply stated). So the best practice is to isolate and "redo" the fog light harness so the headlights have nothing to do with them. The jumper method has you bending a leg of the relay and then jumpering that to power, kind of janky but it works. Like I said I used the jumper method just out of ease and it works, I have had mine like that for over a yr and over 30k miles including quite a bit of offroading/trail riding.

I would recommend doing the jumper method, it works just fine and, if done correctly, can be completely put back to factory in less than a minute if needed.

This is also very true and a new relay if you brake the leg is only a few bucks.

I may try that next time. I thought about that but I also had 2 totes, a cooler, the paddles and fishing gear in the bed too, as well as the back seat loaded up with suitcases, bedding and a child. I was just concerned about the smaller stuff sliding out of the back with the tailgate down lol

If you do this method just make sure that flag is on the yak too many dummies will smack it because they don't pay any attention.

Get a roof rack or cross bars and carry it on the roof is another method I carry mine that way.

Did a few things the last couple of days.. Dropped in K&N high performance air filter, installed highlift on bed rails, painted a few things in the interior black, and just screwed a bottle opener in the bed!
