It was a good day today. Went and did some snow wheeling with the boys and some scouting for hunting.
Both boys got to sit on my lap and steer for about an hour each. They learned quick to dodge the rocks and to stay away from the ditches or they will suck you in.

 

Reno has been fun so far. Nothing like off-roading and shooting 5 miles from the house

Pilot Rock was fun today, decided to do 2N17x which I didn't realize I had done in 2016 with Mike and Alex right before the Blue Cut fire. Some solid climbs and challenging terrain but I ended up running into a fucking HUGE group of mostly Jeeps and 4runners (tons of 3rd gen T4Rs)...probably 30 - 35 rigs total. Luckily, half of them were staged at a vista point halfway through the trail so we got around them, but spent a good hour going maybe 1 mile while we followed the rest. This one dude in a Discovery with street tires and the 4runner in front of him (with bald, fully aired up ATs) kept getting stuck in every little rut they tried crossing so it took forever to get to a point where we could get around them. Finally did though and made it to Pinnacle OHV at the base of Lake Arrowhead, did a bit of Willow Creek Jeep trail but it just took us in a quick circle...I didn't map it out very well. Noticed I wasn't too far from Dishpan Springs which I want to do sometime soon.

We ended up going up the mountain to Lake Arrowhead, had a couple drinks then took the same route back home in the dark (Pilot Rock). Got mixed up though and ended up on some scarcely travel OHV roads out in Hesperia that finally dumped us out somewhere along the 138, lol. Glad to finally be back home. There was quite a bit of snow on Pilot Rock and a good amount up in Arrowhead. Oh and I broke my drivers side door handle, 2 weeks after having to replace the passenger side one I think I'm taking a break until Mojave in 4-ish weeks. That's a lie...probably.

Waited here for probably 15 minutes for that 4runner at the top to make it up this hill...
