Anyone have 285 70 17 with this suspension setup?

Regarding the comparative suspensions, railroad tracks would probably be a good indicator of relative softness. So, how does the TRD suspension perform compared to to stock when crossing RR tracks at various speeds?

What is the consensus on leaf springs to go along with this kit? I'm looking for something that doesn't make the rear end any stiffer than stock. From what I've been reading it seems like a 3 leaf progressive AAL (Wheelers or Icon?) without the overload will achieve this

Yes, with or without overload. 1.5" lift without, 2" with..

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I am pretty sure both Wheelers and Icon are made by Deaver, I have Icon and like them, no complaints

So without going through all these pages, are people adding anything to the front suspension to bring it up from the 1.75 you get from the shock? I have been at 3 inches for a couple of years now and an thinking of going down to 2.5 in the front and bring the rest down from 2.0 to 1.5

I think Dakars are great if you are supporting a topper, RTT, tow a lot or whatever. Not the best just for lifting. A buddy has a Dakar pack with OME shocks and it’s a very firm ride.

Atm, I carry about 200# in the bed. In the future I hope for a metal bumper, so definitely thinking about going this route. Just pulled the trigger on this suspension kit like 5 minutes ago also LOL.

What are the biggest size tires I can run with this setup? Assuming dakars included. Got me a 15 OR.

Here are some additional pics after I took the truck for a drive this afternoon. After being a bit more OCD, I do have a very small amount of driveshaft vibration when taking off. It starts around 10 MPH and I can feel it for a second or two. It's very minor. Not sure if shims or a carrier bearing drop would help. It's hardly noticeable, so I'm not going to mess with it for now.

With the lift installed, I was able to install Husky front mud guards with zero rub.

Edit: Ordered 2.5 degree steel axle shims from Headstrong.

I noticed the same vibration, only from a stop and goes away after about 10MPH. Got much better after torquing my U bolts to 73ft-lbs, but I still feel it there. Also less noticeable with more weight on the truck.

Might as well go Dakars then. Hope you get a kit - I ordered two last week and I still don’t have confidence that either will actually show up.

Are vibrations pretty common with the 1.5 progressive?
