Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

How many people here who have the clunk you all keep talking about still have there stock leaf packs?And have any of you checked your universal joints? As my UV joints were dry from the factory and I also have OME dakar leaf packs and don't have the clunking issue.

 

I apologize for not getting back to you yet. I actually have a fully registered dongle for you already I just have been so caught up in work I haven't sent it. I will for sure mail it to you tomorrow.

I have tested multiple times and cannot hit fuel cut limiter in my truck. For anyone who IS able to hit the fuel cut limiter, please let me know your modifications

Wow, haven't been on here since Thursday...

Now have to figure out how to get and load the tune.. lol
Have 1.02 loaded so hopefully it will go smooth and easy..
Seems like almost everyone is pretty happy from the little I've read.
Can't wait..!!

Again, as I’ve said this before. There’s only so much a tune can accomplish. Short of doing motor swap, this truck won’t behave like 2nd gen did(although to me it’s close with latest tune iteration)
So either cut your losses and get another truck, or wait and get a turbo if the wallet permits(aka wife)

 

Agreed. Alot of people complaining. Its a tune. Ive had alot of sportbikes tuned and a few vehichles. Its going to unlock a little HP and fine tune that throttle responce and AFR not make it a Supercharged monster truck

 

Dont want to bother OP can someone tell me if i ordered today would i be sent the 1.03 current tune or do i have to have any other tune in combination? To many pages to read through to find an answer.

 

You will get 1.03 if you order now.

 

Was anybody complaining that this wasn't a sports car feel?

 

When you download the files for the tune, Flash manager supplies you with the 1.03 Tune. All good.

 

No some were complaining its not like their 4.0 2nd gen. Theres no replacment for displacement

 

I am not far from OVtune is he still doing the flash out of his shop if you drive in? So i dont have any waiting period.

 

@OVTune when I first flashed the 91 tune I had a 25/75 mix of 87/93 fuel in the tank and going forward it will be all 93. Is that going to mess up the learning process? Will the truck adjust, or should I reflash once it’s all 93. This is probably a dumb question but I don’t really understand how ECU learning works.

 

You will be fine - it will advance the timing based on the higher octane pretty quickly. Wouldn’t hurt to reflash or Clear DTCs but not necessary as the net result will be about the same

 

So earlier in the post where Mat posted HP and torque gains I think it was 238 at the rear wheels, would this be with the current "mileage tune"or the performance non mileage tune he hasn't released yet..?

 

Where is OVtune , the web site mentions New Territories, Hong Kong .
