A newer (1989-1990) Bronco II that was parked directly next to that older one!

I used to hate driving at night period, but as I've gained experience I don't mind it at all...

I still, however, hate driving in and around Doylestown at night!

    I give you Exhibit A:

That incident aside, drunks are the primary reason I hate driving in and around Doylestown Borough at night. Whether they are pedestrians or other motorists, I don't care. Drunk drivers are dangerous morons, and drunk pedestrians are just obnoxious morons...

All I can do is drive defensively and make sure any wayward pissed off drunks can't gain access to my truck...

As a victim of drunk driving, I still hate being hassled by police when I'm sober and just trying to get home...

That was back in October 2015...

    $2,600 in damage!

I've never been the same about driving in Doylestown since that happened...

I like mine mostly stock aside from small upgrades that will assist in what I need the truck to do.

    So, here's what happened...

My first encounter with police in Doylestown as a result of suspected drunk driving was in December 2016. I'd had a glass of wine and a draft beer, waited an hour or so, and driven home. This was not long after I'd been involved in a very minor accident, and as a result, my left front headlight was pointed slightly downward. I have no way of knowing if this is what drew attention to my truck...

It is also worth noting that my dad had just signed the title over to me, and the new title hadn't arrived in the mail yet, so maybe he ran my license plate and there was some glitch in the system,

I was driving on the very same stretch of road where I'd end up getting pulled over for speeding 5 months later, and all of a sudden this marked police Tahoe makes a left from a side street. The dashcam footage shows the cop turning onto the street and then roaring up behind me. I wasn't really speeding to begin with (maybe 28-30 MPH in a 25 zone). When I saw the cop, this decreased to like 25-27, and he simultaneously roared up behind and road my ass for a good quarter mile...

My theory is that he was running my license plate and waiting me for me to fuck up (go slightly out of my lane, go more than 2 MPH over the posted speed limit, go slower than the posted speed limit) so he could be pull me over and force me to do the field sobriety tests.

Someone else here on TW commented that Bucks County has one of the highest DUI conviction rates in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, meaning that there's a good chance of being taken to jail for further testing if you so much as stumble during a field sobriety test or seem to be slurring your words. It's not a guarantee that one will get a DUI (a couple friends of mine have been detained for further testing but ended up not facing charges because they were below .08 when the tests came back), but who the fuck wants the hassle of going to jail even if you don't lose your license?

The problem with DUI enforcement these days is that it has become too politically motivated, and seems to be more about generating revenue for the state...

So yeah, when I was younger I used to drive home after two or three beers (I think the most I had in an entire night before driving home was four beers spread out over two or three hours). Now, I don't drink more than one beer if I'm going to be driving, because the thing I'm most scared of is getting on PennDOT's radar. My friend, a lawyer who represented me when I fought my first and so far only speeding ticket, described PennDOT as basically a bureaucratic beast.

    Like a backup camera...

Also, no matter what I'm driving, the stereo system is going to be the one thing I almost always end up changing...

I remember riding in my cousin's 2009 Ford Fusion in 2014, about a year and a half after I'd gotten the Pioneer system in my Tacoma...

My cousin's Fusion just has your basic 4-speaker (or maybe 6-speaker) AM/FM stereo with CD player, AUX input, and Bluetooth. We (that is my cousin, her boyfriend, and me) were listening to Motley Crue, and I asked her if she could turn it up. She had it almost all the way up, and I then told her that her system had absolutely no balls. She agreed with me...

That Fusion ended up being a turd and now, thankfully, it has been replaced with a Honda Civic!
