Rocker switch question

Has anyone bought any of these specific switches, from Amazon? Was wondering how much battery they use, since they are illuminated constantly? Are they gonna drain the battery, if the truck isn't running?

If wired correctly they will only light up when the truck is on or the item the switch controls is being used. I prefer the Toyota push style switches to blend in with the factory look.

 

They are designed to be lit up constantly. I did however, figure how to wire them, to only illuminate, when I flip them on. Just wondering about draw.

All switches are designed to be lit up constantly when provided power. Most people wire the back light wire for the switch to a power wire that only gets power when the ignition is on. If you wire it directly to the battery or to a wire that always has power it will put a constant drain on the battery, its only a small amount of drain. I would never want my switches lit up when my truck is off. I dont want anything causing a constant drain regardless of how much drain and I dont need or want my switches lit up when my truck is off.

 

Regardless of how they are designed, as long as you power the illumination wire with a switched 12v source instead of a constant 12v they will go off with the truck. Most wire them to only illuminate when lights are on tapping into an existing illumination wire on another switch, most pull it off of cargo light switch.

 

These are directly wired to the battery, through the relay in the light harness, so they light all the time. I don't like the idea of constantly lit either but I don't like tapping into factory wires. With my luck, I'd kill the truck, somehow.

 

Ok you can use an add a fuse and tap into the tail fuse and they will only come on with the lights,that is how i have mine wired up, and it works, only illuminates if my lights are on or it's my led light bar is switched on.

Only if you wire them that way. Right on the listing it says "Built-in LED light emits perfect beam to light up the pattern when the switch is powered up, which also allows you to clearly catch sight of it in a dark environment, no more fumbles!"
It wouldn't say when the switch is powered up if it was lit all the time. But believe what you want.
