Dropped the truck off at the dealer for a frame inspection appointment tomorrow morning. Did my homework, it’s covered until the end of the year thanks to the original owner getting it treated in 2010. Although I haven’t found any significant perforations, there’s a shit ton of rusted metal on the frame and cross members...more than just typical service rust. Let’s hope the Tacoma Gods smile upon my truck tomorrow.

when my 2000 tacoma went in for that and failed the test. i was really tempted in declining the check from toyota and rebuilding the frame.

You'd prefer to rebuild your frame yourself over having Toyota install a new one for free?

They didn’t offer to replace the frame? Thought they were only offering checks to pre-2000 Tacomas?

it was 3 years ago and i was in time plus the frame was half gone from the rear. and it was doomed to the crusher but i was fortunate enough to get my current tacoma for free and pay the rest of the 2000 off.

I replaced the dome light bulb that's been burnt out for the last two years. I learned something interesting in the process despite what YouTube DIY-ers claim a continuity test is not a valid check of a bulb.

there is no 6'' lift that isn't a drop bracket. or 4'' pro comp lift.

    Stay away from them.

It looks like there were brackets inside? The box said "missing knuckles"

thats the drop bracket. You cut out the front diff crossmember and bolt that in. it lowers the front diff 4'' i think. The knuckles i bet its referring to are the spindle extensions as you are dropping the lower mounting point for the LCA. So you have to add a extension on top of the spindle to reach the UCA.

So it's a " 6" " lift but you are actually not gaining any diff ground clearance as the front diff gets lowered. Not worth it.

Oh that sounds stupid... no wonder it was in the clearance section. Couldn't find a good lift kit for my truck here everything was block lifts or 0" lifts.

I mean King and Fox are at this trade show, buuuuutttt that's some serious $$$ to drop right now don't know if I'm ready for that kind of suspension yet.

Got some nice Weathertech custom fit floor mats and a recovery strap though. This is an exceedingly American Domestic vehicle crowd. Probably seen one or two Tacomas and like 80 Dodge Rams.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Needs spindles. $300 for a $2800 lift minus spindles isn't too bad.
