Yup, like I told my buddy James, it's my insurance policy for irresponsible parents!

Are you by any chance referring to James quoting your post but not saying anything?

James like to bust my balls for having a backup camera in my truck, at the ripe old age of 28, when I've had my license almost 7 years...

And he's a 16-year old who just got his license and sees no need for a backup camera! :D

I was... and unfortunately I tend to agree with him. Especially since if you learn to use your mirrors then you wouldn’t need a camera.

Cameras break and can be a distraction.

I use the mirrors. I only find myself using the backup camera to back out of the driveway, parallel park, and back into incredibly tight spaces...

FYI, I took the driver's test in my truck when it was totally stock (no backup camera) and didn't have a problem...

Now the one thing I'm GLAD I installed in my truck would be the Pioneer component speaker system! The factory speakers in my truck were garbage!

And also, anyone who's used to driving a Pierce Quantum probably doesn't need a backup camera :)

I don’t drive a quantum, just a Mac and our Rescue which is the Dash.

Anybody who's regularly drives something that big (firetruck, ambulance, 18-wheeler) probably doesn't need a backup camera...

My friend Dave drives an 18-wheeler for a living, and after driving something that big all day, his '05 Lincoln Town Car is a breeze to back up!

I've actually ridden in a Quantum before, so that's what I referenced that particular rig. I knew a couple of guys who ran with Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 (I think at least one of them still does, but I haven't seen them in a couple years), and back in 2011 I wanted to get some pictures of their F350 for a YouTube project for I was doing. They invited me over, and what was supposed to be a simple photo op turned into a ride in what was then a year-old Pierce Quantum tandem-axle!

    Good times...

So your Rescue truck is a Pierce Dash, but please forgive me here...

Did you mean to say Mack, or is Mac an an abbreviation for something?

    Mac = Mack.

My name use to be on their (Dolyestown) rolls for calls. My best friend when I was younger, her father was the chief so anytime they had a call I would go with him and she would go on their truck.

As you know, 2011 marked the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I was already doing Chevy truck tribute videos on YouTube (I love Chevy trucks!) and I've had a fascination with emergency vehicles that goes back to when I was still in diapers. Not surprisingly, I grew up having nothing but respect for firefighters and EMS. I figured "Why not combine my love of trucks and my respect for firefighters and law enforcement and do some sort of tribute to them?" 2011 was the year I got my driver's license. I had a brand new Tacoma and a Nikon SLR camera, so I was set as far as necessary equipment. I started emailing every volunteer fire company, ambulance company, and police department within 20 miles of of my house, requesting permission to take pictures of their vehicles. I'd say the result was overwhelmingly positive. I ended up getting photos of vehicles from Doylestown Fire Company, New Hope Eagle Fire Company, Midway Fire Company, Central Bucks Ambulance, Newtown Ambulance Squad, and Buckingham Township PD. Most of these pictures made it into a video called "The Trucks of the Heroes" which I posted on YouTube in 2011-2012 (don't know if it's still there).

I have shared this bit of info publicly...

Emily wanted to buy a truck to tow a horse trailer, and asked my opinion. I recommended either a Tundra or a Tacoma (I saw a 2006 Tacoma 4.0L/auto pulling a full-service BBQ food trailer once, so I have no doubt it could pull a horse trailer). Emily responded by saying that Toyota trucks are pieces of shit and can't haul shit...

This was just one small item in a long list of things she'd done to piss me off recently, and a short time later I cut ties with her...
