Hello first I am new to this forum and I have been searching pictures and post all day and can’t find my answer. I have a 2005 4door short bed. It has 265/70/17 on it right now. I’m almost positive it has the TSB leaf spring (even though they are sagged) it has 3 springs plus 1 on bottom. So my question is I want to lift this truck but not what everyone would think I want to keep the 265/70/17 or maybe go the next size up not very big at all. My truck is already leveled for some reason I measured from the center of the rim to the fender flare and all sides are 19 3/4. So I only want a little more lift just because I like the more wheel well look. I’m also getting Moto metal 951s that are 17 for a very low price so a little lift will look better for the rims I think. My truck has 170,000 on it with the stock bilstien shocks. So I could use a new set of shocks for sure. Im looking at the bilstien 5100s with the height adjustment. Witch there is a lot of threads about using them to level out my truck but my truck is level. So I would like to get a 1 inch block on the rear (yes I know a lot of people do not like the blocks but I believe 1inch isn’t going to hurt anything I do not off-road my truck) I would like to raise the bilstien to 1.75 just need opinions if the truck will look level or will the front be to tall or to short. Just if anybody has the same setup post pictures or just give me your opinions. I’m not looking for hate just thoughts thank you!

I'm not too familiar with the lift but I believe it gives you about a 1.5-2 inch lift in the front depending on gear and since its just struts in the rear it will have no lift. So you would need to add either blocks, add a leaf or leaf pack to lift the rear. The price seems very reasonable though.

What's your price point? The adjustable Bilsteins and a 1 inch block in the rear (as you mentioned) might be your best/cheapest solution. If you're level now, that should put you fairly level, if not just a tad nose high.

The idea you pose in your original post fails to connect two things. You want to lift the front nearly 2 inches, but lift the rear 1 inch - on a truck that's already level.

The reason your truck is currently level is that the leaf springs have sagged. 22 inches is stock height on the rear, measuring center of hub to fender. The front is 20".

Your idea for the front is good. These trucks ride really nice with that setup.

Do yourself a favor and replace the rear leaf pack. The whole thing. Your truck will ride better, even on road. Standard Dakars are a good option. You can get a little more custom with springs from Deaver.

    Welcome to the TW family.

Price point for hole job isnt too high. I wish I could afford a real suspension lift with new UCA and the hole nine. Because I promise I would be spending the most I could if I was able to. That’s what I’m worried about a tad noise high. I’m also considering doing a 1.5 AAL with the bilstien set to 1.75.
Just trying to figure the best way for small level lift.

Putting an AAL on springs that have sagged more than 2 inches is going to be a disappointment. Put a 2" block on and buy leaf springs next year.

Thank you, I was wondering why my truck was so level when everyone on here says the front is always lower. Do they make spring packs with small lift to them?

Since your leaf pack is sagging, it would be a good idea to go with a leaf pack replacement or support, such as an aal over a block. But I would advise against single aals. The ride will be harsh. Look into progressive aals (many companies make them, such as Wheelers Offroad). The ride will be much better on road. Wheelers has a progressive aal that you can run without the overload for 1.5 inches of lift (2 inches with it in). That with your 1.75 inches up front should put you level.

Okay. You should get right around 1.75-2" of lift up front at that setting.

My 4x4 V6 access cab got 2.5" of lift at the 1.75" setting.

Did you do an AAL or a block in rear? You said I would be disappointed with a aal on sagged springs correct?

Correct. An AAL is for adding lift/ stiffness to a "healthy" leaf pack.

My setup is a little...unique. I have the Dakar Heavy Duty leaf pack. I also have Firestone air bags. I carry a lot of weight around all the time, plus I haul weight and/ or tow regularly.

Deaver offers leaf packs with 1,2,3..inch lifts - at stock weight, or with added weight. The Dakars come in 2 options, MD and HD. The MD pack gives about 3" of lift without weight in the truck. The pack has 2 overload springs. The second spring from the bottom can be removed to drop that lift to 2.5". With this setup, your truck will look level, even though it will have a slight rake. It will ride better than stock on and of road. The ass won't sag if you're moving furniture either.

Pulling out the overload leaf is very easy - very little mechanical knowledge needed to do it before they are installed. Just a couple wrenches - even adjustable wrenches will be fine.

Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road is very knowledgable. I've bought parts from many places. I highly recommend her.
