I forget about your fellow love of 80's/90's Toyota sports cars. Did you do pop up lights on yours?

 

I never found a decent 93 celica body and now I'm looking on eBay, found one in Japan I'm gonna shoot for. My dad still owns my real one. I kinda want it back.

 

I can't wait to see what Frank has on order by the morning....

Hopefully I can run the Deadbolt at Jambo...since it's a Ford Bronco knockoff. I can always slap the Supra body on it real quick.
@Silverspool what color red did you use for your hobo buggy? I think it might be a close enough match to my real car. I see Tamiya has a Red and a Bright Red, but hard to tell the difference from photos online. I might just buy both colors and see what actually sprays closer to the real thing. There's definitely no flake in mine, I just need a really bright glossy red with no orange or maroon/dark tinting.
Found something else I'll try to figure out along with the headlights...

the paint i use is Tamiya PS-34, Bright Red. sprays on orange looking but once its dry and you peel the protective film off, its a nice bright red.

one thing to note, if you are painting the inside, use PS paint. if you paint the outside, use TS paint.

 

youre gonna need a multi channel radio also to control any pop ups or sunroofs/doors. Get the fly sky gt3c then hack it for 8 channels

 

Is that like the one you guys use where i could also pair it to the crawler?

 

Mines a FS gt3b. It’s “modded” to run 3S batts but I don’t know what that entails

 

yeah the GT3b/c has 10 model memory and i have extra receivers. The C comes with a rechargeable batt with a usb port, theres also hack out for it where you can make it an 8 channel, just also need the 8 channel rx.

 

So the 8 channel hack can't be done on the B model?

 

im not sure, i think so but i never looked into it much. there are youtube videos all over, try a search for flysky hack. you have to buy some adapter and solder some things.

 

Bring that thing to the race track tomorrow.
