Yeah, I'll give it a thought at lease-end for sure. It's not that it's atrocious it's just mostly annoying. I think I need to tough it out for my wallet's sake. Maybe in a year or two I won't feel the difference (wishful thinking).

Your truck is a lease? Oh well at least you know you get to return it eventually.

Yeah but I was really banking on gaining that equity at lease-end since the residual value is way lower than a 5-year old used Taco on the market, plus I drive low kms. We'll see I guess lol

Well, Going from my 1st gen into a Frontier SV, the Frontier felt so smooth, spacious and refined. Fast forward 3 years and compared to my 3rd gen, the Frontier feels so coarse and unrefined. The 3rd gen with the TRD OR suspension feels so plush going down the road.

Maybe because I'm getting older, but I appreciate those things more than ever. Afraid to admit, but if they sold it as a Lexus T350 with more comforts and refinements I'd pay more for it.

Get manual after this truck if it still will be in production, you will not regret it, I drive everyday in horrible Toronto traffic and it's not an issue, people who complain that it's hard to drive MT in traffic just lazy.

P.S. I drove before AT 2005 and 2015, and can tell you the MT in 3rd gen is better than auto in 2nd gen.

Basically right now it is 3rd gen MT > 2nd Gen AT > 3rd Gen AT/2nd Gen MT, I drove them all.

I looked at them and they're a great truck. The nice thing is, at least around here, the resale is pretty horrid. So bad that they were nearly as cheap as a nice 1st gen is some cases. I just remembered how much I hated turning a wrench on every Nissan I've come across. IMO Nissan does a pretty bad job thinking about how stuff is going to be serviced

    This.

My 2011 SR5 was an incredible vehicle, but anytime I had to tow or haul something I found that 5th was just a little too high and 4th was just a little too low

The 5th gear and rear end ratio on my 2017 is like an answer to my prayers.

This is true. When it came to me buying my truck she didn't care about anything just that it had to be a Crew Cab. I was leaning 90% Double Cab anyway so it all worked out.

This post makes me think of my Great Uncle. The guy worked all of his life and drove Buicks his whole life. He finally in 2008 decided to save up and bought his first Cadillac an STS. He was so proud of it but everytime he took my Great Aunt in it she would give AT LEAST half a dozen complaints about how much she hated the car and why. He still owns it and it has about 9,000 miles on it. She said he couldn't get a new car until she did so finally they traded her Yukon in for an Enclave but hes now so depressed with what the Cadillac is now worth it continues to sit there not being driven while he's putting around 15,000 miles on his Trike a year.

Since you're not taking a bath on changing vehicles mid-lease, you might have a few bucks to get the OVtune. It makes a lot of the gripes with the tranny suddenly disappear...not all, but most.

I'm contemplating it. Just don't want to play around with the warranty, that's all that's really holding me back.
