I don't troll or mind-fuck. I say what I think and I try and be nice about it. Although some people make it very hard to remain nice.

I've charged people for being dumbasses before. One dude had a 4x4 Tahoe and said it felt like it was binding in corners. All I did was turn the 4x4 off and charged him. Why shouldn't the tech get paid?

I'm cool like a fool in a swimming pool.

There was an assumption made by everyone (except @Tcomaboy) in this thread that the OP was familiar enough with an auto trans vehicle to pass a driver's test. With that assumption made, it was also assumed there was an actual problem with the transmission. One that would have been tough to troubleshoot over the web, so he recommended that he go to a shop. I'm not seeing a problem with that.

Time is money I guess. If he did get charged for it, it still would have been well deserved, and a lesson learned for him.

It's not wrong to charge people for a 5 minute fix of their dumbassness, but it's great customer service to give them a freeby. They will remember that and come back when they have a really expensive problem.

    If this is real.
Seems at some point society has let them and us down here. Parental gudience and shit.
The dealer should had shown them how to use it and how to use 4wd if it has it, didn’t look.
It would prolly be better to bring it to someone rather than continue driving it this way. The dealer should be free of charge and embarrassed about lack of advise.
A honest shop I would like to think may charge a small fee for the time used but also explain what was done maybe explain why.
In some people’s case they just plain shouldn’t do it themselves and need others help.
The first step in figuring out if it’s broke is if your using it correctly.

A tech can't pay his bills with free. I don't know about you but I don't work for free.

I'm a business owner. I give out freebys all the time to gain loyal repeat customers that tell all their friends to call me.

Do you own a rub & tug by chance?

Let's not mix business with pleasure in here. We're already pretty off topic.

I'm beginning to suspect the OP is a Russian bot programmed to sew discord among Tacoma owners.
