Hey guys, I just had a question about removing my tail pipe and putting a 3” turndown on the stock muffler, would that “hurt” anything, Any “pros” or “cons” I should be aware of ?

2nd best free mod. Aesthetically awesome and even more necessary if you off road. I just cut mine after the axle.

I had the muffler shop cut mine just after the last hanger and weld on a turn down tip.

$30 and about 20 minutes later I drove off happy. Old pic, but you get the gist.

I cut oem after the axle with a sawzall it was a easy solution took 5 mins. I then wanted the truck to sound a lil beefier so I bought a MBRP easy install Capture.jpg

thanks everyone! I like chads pride idea, and if I want it a little louder il just cut off the tailpipe entirely, and add a turndown on the muffler itself thank you for all your input.

I turned my down immediately after muffler where there is a hanger. Just before rear axle. Its just a tad louder but not bad at all. Some will say the exhaust fumes could come in. Just dont run truck for a half hour in one spot then. Love my turn down

My exhaust shop said to ensure its cut immediately after a pipe hanger. So its not flimsy or break off in future. Just food for thought even if this user has no issues
