Your stereo opening is big enough for a double-DIN head unit!

How hard would it be to put a backup camera in your rig?

That top one is mine, but I'm not a touch screen stereo guy. It would be easy to put a camera in if you wanted to, especially with the overhang of the two piece tailgate.

The only reason I got a touch-screen stereo is for the backup camera compatibility...

We have a couple cars that have those as stock equipment and I've never really found them all that useful. The cruiser has excellent visibility, and the taco I have been driving forever so I have really good spacial ability with, especially on tight trails.

In great shape and in my county!

I thought it was a good price until I saw the mileage (over 205K)...

Not the worst price, helps when they're fully loaded though. I'd worry about rust where you are, not with the frame (frames on 80s are fully boxed and double wall outer) but with the body, especially under the fender flares.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, better known as North Korea, referred to U.S. troops as "a bunch of murderous ogres"...

The leader of the DPRK, who resembles a certain swamp-dwelling green ogre, ordered the execution of a top-ranking officer with an anti-aircraft gun for falling asleep during a meeting!

Remind me again who the "murderous ogre" is here...?

    Please share your opinion!

This is the one time I came even remotely close to facing legal action over a YouTube video! Before you ask, the answer is NO!

The video had absolutely nothing to do with HVAC or filming without permission! In fact, the content of said video was about as normal as you could possibly get!

As everybody knows, I work at a bar with a dedicated music venue in the basement...

Back in the day (2010-2011ish), a musician named J.D. Malone was the open mic night host. He has his own band called J.D. Malone and the Experts, and he is a very nice guy. One time in 2011 or 2012, I made a video of J.D. performing in a jam session during open mic night at my future place of employment. I repeat, it was a jam session! Not even J.D. and his band! I wanted to post the video on YouTube, and got permission form J.D. and everyone else performing in that jam session to do so. I posted the video on YouTube, and it was up for months or possibly even a year before this issue arose.

Again, keep in mind that J.D. and everyone else in that video had given me permission to post it on YouTube!

However, at some point after I posted the video, J.D. and his band signed with a record company. I had some knowledge of this, but the last thing on my mind was that any of the stuffed-shirt record execs would give a shit about an amateur video of J.D. performing a cover with a bunch of random people, prior to the record deal being signed. I was wrong!

I logged into my YouTube account one day and found a private message from somebody I didn't know or recognize. I opened the message and a found a polite but firm "nastygram" from a typical stuffed-shirt record producer calling himself "Dean" from "so-and-so record company."

At first I thought it was somebody trying to mess with me, and I was ready to either ignore them or tell them to go fuck themselves, but it did not take long for me to figure out that it was more than likely legit...

"Dean" said that he directly represented J.D. and that J.D. had just signed with his company. He then gave me the usual runaround bullshit about how they had "big plans" for J.D. and in "their interest" they wanted to "control J.D.'s image." Basically, he was asking me to remove a video I'd made of J.D. and some guys who weren't even in his band from prior to this record deal, and which I'd gotten everyone's (including J.D.'s) permission to post on YouTube.

Part of me wanted to tell "Dean" to go to hell and then block him, but the reasonable part of me took over and I went and showed my parents. I still wasn't totally convinced that this was legit. I was friends with J.D. on Facebook even back then (and still am), so after chatting with my parents, it was determined that my best course of action would be to confirm Dean's claim with J.D. himself. I politely responded to Dean, saying that I was friends with J.D. and had gotten his permission months ago to post it, that I considered the video to be my property, and that I would only remove the video if J.D. confirmed his story.

As soon as I messaged Dean, I immediately messaged J.D. on Facebook and received a response almost immediately. J.D. confirmed pretty much everything said by Dean, though he was a bit more polite about it, and even apologized that I'd gotten "dragged into it." As promised to Dean, I removed the video. Probably two or three weeks later, after all was said and done, Dean finally responded back and thanked me (reminds me of Life's Been Good, where Joe Walsh says "Got me an office, gold records on the wall; Leave me a message, maybe I'll call).

J.D. felt so bad that I'd unwittingly gotten sucked into the bureaucracy of the music business that he not only apologized profusely every time he saw me for what seemed liked an eternity after that little fiasco, but he also hooked me up with a CD of his band's greatest hits (I do enjoy some of his music, especially a song called Silver From) and a whole bunch of other free stuff.

    The ending here is bittersweet...

J.D. is a legitimate professional musician. He has a wife and kids, two nice vehicles (Toyotas, by the way), and a house. However, he's one of those down-to-earth types who does what he does largely for the love of music, and it just happens to be a nice bonus that he makes a enough money to support a family and lease a shiny new RAV4. J.D. had the potential to begin a lucrative career, but Dean's record company basically wanted J.D. to change his image to something that he didn't like. After chatting with his band, the entire band mutually agreed to cancel the record deal. With that contract null and void, and J.D. solely representing himself once again, he happily told me one day that I could repost the videos I'd been forced to take down...

Problem! The external hard drive, on which those video files had been stored, had suffered a catastrophic failure and I lost EVERYTHING (including three years of Chevrolet and Ford truck photos)!

I'm still satisfied with the overall outcome though...

When you're driving around on a warm spring day with the windows down, Silver From sounds quite good on Pioneer speakers in a 2010 Toyota Tacoma (I did a live video on Facebook while playing my favorite J.D. Malone song in my truck, and J.D. loved it)!

    There's a place called Poco's in Doylestown that's so-so...

Most of the Mexican places around here are chains and franchises (like Chipotle)...

Yeah it's really silly. Im 34, mostly look it. My friends are of like age, look like men. None of us look like were under 21. Kinda fraustrating and alittle funny when you have to tell you obviously adult friend to go outside so you can buy beer. Lol

    I got my learner's permit in 1984. I learned to drive in a 1973 Audi Super 90.

I bought my own car in eary 1987. That was a 1973 Ford Pinto Wagon.

Aside from the whole "exploding gas tank" thing, Pintos are good cars...

Especially if you drop a V8 in 'em!
