The other thing with tailgate pads is they wear the paint a little bit where the strap goes around the tailgate at the bottom. I put some clear helicopter tape on my old truck and it did wonders for the paint

I had a local vinyl place clear bra my whole tailgate for the same reason.

That bumper is awesome! Was that swing out custom made with the hitch, and what brand is it?

Custom, at my request. That shop no longer makes bumpers.

Trip to Hurricane is gonna be interesting this weekend. Fresh snow was NOT factored into our ride plan. WTF Utah, no snow all winter then the ONE weekend I plan a trip, snow everywhere for the 7 days prior. :notsure:

Yeah, all those mesas are still good riding wet, but the roads up are always the variable.

Local intel suggests that the roads are passable, but who knows. Lower elevation around ZEN, etc were suggested by the local bike shop I called.

Interesting. How much did it cost and how well has it held up?

It's a 1Up. Not the cheapest rack, but they feature Land Cruisers on their home page, so there's that.

    https://www.1up-usa.com

We have a 1Up trainer, too, which is how I first heard about them many years ago. I ended up buying one of their racks about 6 years ago now and it's been solid for me.

It was ~$75ish I think. That was for a wash, debadge, clear bra, rebadge.

It has held up well so far, but I didn't notice any problems with my tailgate before doing it, so the difference is questionable. I did it as more of a preventive measure.
