Cane Creek or Push have a high level of customization. Plus great customer service.

Just picked up my new Marin Nail Trail 6 today. Now if it can just stop raining here for 5 minutes I can take a maiden voyage.

My pike is set at 130 so 67.5.

Longer travel process goes down to 66. Just depends on fork length.

How many of you have made the transition from 26 to 650b? I upgraded my old Cannondale 2001? F1000 hard tail with XT, Hope, Pauls and Phil Woods stuff in 2008, but I'd like to build another bike for the stable. I've been eyeing the Ritchey P-650b frame as a foundation.

I went from 26" Ibis to a 650b Yeti, and now a 29'er Santa Cruz. Depending on where/how you ride, with modern geometry, you might want to skip 650b all together. IMHO, there are only 2 reasons to go 650b. 1. You are too short for 29er. 2. You need maximum amount of suspension travel.

    Yeah.
I like the 650b on my Remedy with longer travel. I like the 29+ on my Stache hardtail. The Stache can do almost everything the Remedy can do, in many cases much faster, but is a different ride. The Remedy is more fun on flow trails with jumps.

That frame appears to only accept up to 2.1" tires. On a 650b hardtail, I personally would want 2.8" minimum for the rough trails I ride. May be fine on mild, smooth trails, but even then I would look to go 29er.

I went from an 09 trance to a 17 Bronson. The bike is obviously better but I really can't tell a difference with the wheels. There are too many other huge differences in the geometry and travel length to notice a tiny wheel size change.

Hey guys! So I am totally new to this scene. Recently went mountain biking with my boss at a local trail and I had a freaking blast. I am currently looking into getting a bike (budget is around $1,500) and wanted to get your guys opinion. This is going to be my first bike and from what I heard, I want to stick to 27.5" wheels and I need a large frame (I am 6' tall and weigh about 210). What are your guys opinion on these?

Bit of an update since 2015...I have since gone tubeless, changed to a 1x, added dropper. A few other odds & ends. Have about 2300 miles on the Trek. It's been a great bike.

I've since moved from sunny socal to the PNW, and ended up getting myself a fat bike to ride the bitchin groomed trails up here:

Also, just bought myself a Norco threshold yesterday to incorporate some of the other landscape around here into my routine. :goingcrazy:
