I like your set-up those Honda's are quiet for a generator. I would possible put a couple more of those vents in the doors just to get some more airflow. I use to have a big 15,000 watt diesel generator hooked up like you have it. I could run my whole house and it was very economical on fuel. I don't think it did as well as your's are though.

I leave the doors open like in the picture when they are running, so it gets plenty of airflow.

The gennys are chained to the enclosure to prevent theft. I’ve heard stories of bad guys stealing generators during the days following Hurricane Sandy. Not happening on my property.

That's good to keep the doors open.

Just do the oil change on your customers driveway.

Why Did you go with those type of gennys as opposed to the normal whole house type? I don't think I've ever seen those used for what your doing with them, but then again I don't have a ton of generator experience. It's nice that you can take them away from the house though and use them somewhere else!

    @Bocsy44 definitely this

A stationary whole house leaves you not able to use it for other things where these are portable.

This ^^^. The genny are extremely portable and lightweight. Aside from glamping, I’ve used them on church picnics and events.

And last time we lost power, I pulled one of the gennys and let my neighbor borrow it to keep his fridge/freezer going.

I just never came across this before. Definitely a good idea! Is this type of setup used often? I'm used to the stationary generators.

The cool kids that do outdoorsy stuff have them. Also very common with the emergency preparedness folks and those Food Trucks since they sip gas and are quiet.

The rich peeps have the stationary gennys.

That is pretty much what everyone down here has is a mobile one of sorts usually with enough juice to run the fridge and a few other things. Like Lloyd stated before most are not hard wired and are patched in via an extension cord.

In a worst case scenario like a mandatory evac, I could always grab one, throw it in the truck and go...

Dat flex tho. After flexing out I need to space out my bumps by 1”. I’m too close for comfort to bottoming out.

This that and the other thing.
yes I feel weird sitting in the driveway for that long, usually if I have some personal shit to do I will just go do that, but I will sit there for a good 30-40 mins just incase they come home early, so I can get the job done early so I can get home.... well.. u guessed it, early! hahaha I had all my furnace cleanings done by 12:30 and that was what time my last cleaning was suppose to start lol which lead me to have such a big gap in time, I went to their house but no one was home... oh well cuz I went home and did my oil change hahaha

hahaha I don't think they would have appreciated that, plus I don't use my truck for work, I have a work vehicle and I aint doing no oil changes on that thing, f that noise. boss can pay someone to do that! hahaha I did have time to go home and get r one on the taco tho!

it actually was not too bad, it was dry under the truck itself, and all the snow/ice around the truck was soft enough I could shovel it all out of the driveway, thru a tarp down with my moving blanket on it and got the oil change all done! nothing better then getting paid to do personal stuff!

This little chainsaw continues to impress. Cut right through this tree that was probably 10” in diameter with no fuss.

Also camping alone is cool, but also pretty fucking boring.

It's nice to camp alone sometimes the piece and quiet can just sit and reflect and not be bothered.

    What chainsaw do you have
