Hello everyone I’m new to the world of Tacoma’s. I’m looking to buy I think a 2007-2008 prerunner or four wheel drive.
What are some things I should look for, worry about. What wears out first?
Most of the ones I’ve been looking at have about 120-150,000 miles on them.
    Thanks guys appreciate the help
    Dave

Well, you'll want to check wear items too (no different than any vehicle with that type of mileage) but the frames are common issues on 2009 and older.

I have an 07 4.0 4x4 auto and after 150,000 miles the only thing I had to do were front wheel bearings. The bearings seem to be a weak link but mine lasted 100,000 miles sme I've read only get 50 to 80 thousand but I don't off-road just the beach occasionally. I'm real happy with my year and hope to keep for as long as I can. Good luck

Seriously. Check frame for rust. Check it close. Nothing else really to look for in those years that are tacoma specific.

i just bought a used 2010 with 82k on it. i went with the 10 because the research that i read showed that year had the least amount of complaints. good luck. but yes check the frame make sure its been replaced. theres a bunch of little things that can be wrong but nothing serious. example as the blower motor "tick" i had alot of dash bulbs out, my door actuator sticks. good luck with your search

2007 manual with 168,000. One wheel bearing so far. New brakes at 135k. Needs a Center Bearing now. That's it.
