IMG_0990.jpg Has anyone else had a problem with their paint. I have a 17 dcsb in Blazing Blue Pearl and the clearcoat on the roof is already fogging white. This truck isn't even a year old and only has 9k on it.

would it qualify for warranty? I have no problem with mine, but I can tell the paint feel very thin.

I haven't checked on warranty yet, was waiting for the 10k service.

The only issue with the paint on my truck is some overspray inside the drivers side rear door frame, otherwise it's flawless. Could the clouding over you are seeing maybe be wax or polish hazed over or is it a flaw in the actual clearcoat?

It's the clearcoat for sure. I was a painter for many years so you can imagine my disappointment with bad paint jobs.

If you think it is Warranty, I would take it in right now, I would not wait for the 10K service.

    Just my thoughts...

Good luck man, hope things turn out OK for you.

Man that sucks! Got any pictures of it? Sure sounds like a warranty issue unless there was a spill or environmental issue. Keep us posted.

my 08 had that issue. first it was the roof, then the hood...i recommend taking it to the dealer. once the clear coat goes it looks absolutely horrible.

I tried taking mine in once I noticed these issues also within 5k miles and they denied fixing the problem. I went to my dealer more than a handful and left my truck over a few days so they can look at them. Since I had the truck for 5k miles they said it was my fault. Good luck! I’m at 22,000 miles now! So if you get anything done to yours let me know!

I bought my truck from a dealer in Long Beach... not the greatest management over there... they did nothing for me even though these issues were all over the truck.

Right on guys. I will be going to the dealer this weekend and will post the outcome. I’ll also try to get a pic or two posted tonight. The rest of the paint looks great but the roof looks ten years old. This wouldn’t bother me so much if I weren’t 6’5” and didn’t have to see it every time I get into the truck.

Sorry about the delay on the pics. I've been working during daylight hours. I have an appointment on Tuesday at the dealership, we'll see what they say then.

Wow, not cool. Try another dealer, I’m sure Toyota will definitely agree to correct it.

Ouch that looks terrible. The paint on these trucks is the thinnest I've seen on any vehicle ever. I've got a black truck and inside the doors and around the edges of the fenders you can see primer they put the paint on so thin.
