Yes, that would work. I pass through Raleigh quite often.

I'm still trying to decide what to do. I have a OME heavy lift with 285/75r16 tires. The double cardan is completely shot.

Can't decide whether to completely rebuild the stock 2-piece (double cardan, support bearing, u-joints) or just buy a 1-piece.

Cheaper to replace the u-joints and carrier bearing.

I replaced mine before I came to NC with @YamaDirtrider and it wasn't that bad other than busting a C clamp right in half

That's cuz of the bumper and seeing much more of the tire, science speak.

You have to use a BFH?

A BFH and a screwdriver to pry it rearword. I’ve got less than a finger clearance between the tire and diff. Hopefully I’ll get more then I straighten the axle out.

Yep and that’s why when I went to the 255/85 I no longer had a full size spare.

I do thanks to @Red Baron but it just sits in the bed. My @JimboAnz spare for the spare which is stock size :anonymous: is still under the truck. I am thinking about getting some more spares put on my factory wheels after I clean them up and spray bomb them. Then I could have a spare set for a spare set or something like that.

Axle: nothing. The leaf pack is not straight. Not sure how, but one side the pin is farther back, maybe slightly crooked.
I thought about it. And when I got the tires I dident have one for spare. But the thought off stock tire on the system with the others overdsize can’t be good for anything. Luckily the center diff wound be able to compensate yet the tire was proably the original stock so it had to go anyway.

Wait. Full size? As it smaller tire or just not as thick?

Are the leaf packs oriented the right direction. If they are then the leaf pack that has a wrongly placed pin needs to be replaced by one that is correct. That isn't cool though.

It’s an all pro Standard pack.
Yes the millitary wrap is forward.
My axle has 3 holes and it’s in the middle on both.
One of the sides the pin was a little loose when I got them(second hand) so it could of been that. However looking at the last small leaf you can tell it’s longer in the front than the rear. The oposite side is about even though.

My spring perches on my axle only had one hole for the pin to go into. It sounds like that those leaf packs are a little worse for wear and need to be replaced soon. I bet with the axle being crooked it crab walks like crazy.

Well mins got 3 not sure if the 2 are large enough for the pin. Our local Toyota master tech clued me into the 3 holes.
When he did an alignment on it the rear axle was still within factory spec so it dident flag on the machine.

Eventually on a warm day I’ll pull the pack apart and attempt to straighten it out.

Same here. This one was after a bumper install and moving raptor lights tied to DRL.
