Don't suppose you would rather sell your truck to me? I am looking for one of those trucks to put a 2L-TE Toyota turbodiesel in.

Are you wanting to put the 3.0 or the 3.4?

Don't swap it for a 3.slow, it's given that moniker for a reason. If you could get your hands on a 3.4L 5vz-fe, that would be sweet!

I have to agree with you there man, the 3.4's are bullet proof motors. Def try to get your hands on one.

AFAIK, only the 3.slow had HG problems. I have a 3.4L and have no problems with over 123K miles. (knock on wood)

Actually, the head gasket problems were from the 3.0's specifically from 4runners. the 3.4's are newer. they've been tried and tested and proven very relyable.

2 inch spacer in the front, and homemade add a leaf in the rear, billet grille, bull bar
rebuild the 22r with some good parts and it would be better than the 3.0 and the 3.4

The 22RE is an incredible engine. I have a friend with a 1st Gen 4Runner who has the 22RE. He has over 300K on the entire rig. The only major work he has done was rust repair and a clutch.

I found the 3.0L to be underpowered and inefficient. If I had your truck, I would run the 22RE until it died.

2 inch. lift, brush gaurd, hella lights on the brush gaurd, cheap fog lights on the bumper, aluminum billet grill, after market aluminum wheels, 12 inch. 800 watt pyle sub, infinity 300 watt speakers, amps. for those, flip out sony head unit.
you would probly be better off putting a 3.4 liter v6 from a 4 runner or new tacoma. i know that the engine mounts for the 3.0 liter and the 3.4 are the same mounts, and alot of people have taken the 3.0 liter out from the pick up and put the 3.4 in.

None but would like to do an engine swap from 3.0 that got broken at the engine block right by the oil pan passenger side towards the front where the water pump is connected if I am not mistaken. But as I figure out the 96 3.4 engine which I already have it looks like I will have an issue on exhaust and other issue that connects to the air duct nd filter
I have just gotten of a 1991 totota sr5 pick up pre runner 4x4 with a v6 3.0 liter engine on it and still working on to remove the v6 3.0 engine but already bought a Used V6 3.4 liter engine but already notice some differences between the V6 3.0 engine installed and the V6 3.4 engine that I am planning to swap. The throttle body of the V6 3.0 is at the druver's side while the V6 3.4 is at the passenger side .Is there any otger way around it to continue the engine swap?

Holy resurrected thread Batman! An eight year hiatus! Good luck with your swap macjan... I have nothing material to add here other than my already stated observation.
