I always use genuine Toyota parts too (learned my lesson after the sideview mirror incident of April 2017)!

Here's an incident where I actually got permission to take pictures of a truck and it still came back to bite me in the ass!

This happened back in July 2012, right after the hard drive crash, in my own neighborhood. I'd just gotten back from the gym and I saw a black Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition parked on my street. I grabbed my camera and walked over to take pictures. This truck belonged belonged to a friend or relative of my neighbors, all of whom were Indian (this is important later).

The wife of the truck owner was sitting in the driver's seat, and I asked if I could take pictures of the truck. I explained why exactly I wanted to take pictures, and she said I could. She then locked up the truck and went back inside the house. I was standing in front my neighbor's house (on a public sidewalk), taking pictures of this F150 that I had permission to take pictures of. The next thing I know, this attractive middle-aged Indian woman (different from the first woman who'd told me I could take pictures) comes out of the open garage and says "Can I help you?!?!"

This woman was my neighbor for the last 5 years or so, on the same fucking street, so I'm amazed she didn't recognize me for starters. I tell her that "the other woman said I could take pictures of the truck" and expected her to leave me alone. She didn't, and starts to become rather nasty. She didn't threaten me or anything, she was just being a bitch...

Unfortunately the first Indian woman who'd previously been sitting in the truck was nowhere to be found, so for some reason this second, slightly older woman thought I was lying...

The truck did not belong to the second woman, it was not on her property (and not only that it was on a public street), and the owner had given me permission to take pictures. Frankly, I didn't think it was any of the second woman's business...

She the makes the mistake of saying it's weird that I'm taking pictures of this truck, and that kinda set me off...

I say again...

I'D DONE EXACTLY WHAT I SUPPOSED TO DO AND GOTTEN PERMISSION FROM ONE OF THE REGISTERED OWNERS OF THIS TRUCK, WHICH WAS PARKED ON A PUBLIC STREET. WHERE DID THIS SECOND WOMAN GET THE NERVE?

A shouting match begins, but there was no cussing on either side...

She tells me that if I yell at her like that again, she's gonna tell me to "just walk away from the truck." I don't even think she seemed to realize that I was her neighbor and lived 5 houses up the street from her, and they were townhouses too, so it was a close 5 houses!

She then starts making little sense, saying something like "it
may not be her truck, but it will be parked in her driveway soon, and therefore she has a right to know why I'm taking pictures." What the actual fuck?!?!

Finally, the first Indian woman who actually owned the truck comes back outside, and I point directly at her and say "She gave me permission to take pictures of the truck!"

The second woman then turns her attention to the first woman and begins screaming at her in their native language (Indian), and the first woman begins screaming back...

After like a minute, the second woman storms back inside the house...

I take a few more pictures of the truck and start to walk home...

I'd assumed the first woman had gone inside as well, but I was surprised to see her sitting in my neighbor's minivan with the sliding door open as I walked away. She smiled at me, and said "I'm sorry." and "You're good." while giving me the thumbs up...

We lived there for almost four years after that incident and I never really saw that second woman again...

 

All I need is A/C, heat, and a good sound system!

I'm honestly thinking mental problems on the part of the second woman, based on how she chewed out the woman who owned the truck for letting me taking pictures...

I'm not sure if you're aware, but karmic law would mean you did something to deserve to be hit, along with him deserving the jail sentence & suspension. It's not a one way street.

He chose to drive drunk, and he zoned out behind the wheel while waiting at a stop sign. My theory is that he was sitting there for a few minutes before I got to the intersection...

He saw me making a left, and with his impairment couldn't judge how close he actually was to my truck. I swear he actually did it on purpose, but it came to bite him in the ass...

I did nothing to deserve getting hit!
