Damn that's cheap.

 

I’m starting to feel that way about my Ford. Seriously considering keeping it for a while longer. I have it set up the way I want, i’m over that magic 100k mile mark so trade in sort of stagnates anyways for a while. I have some house projects coming up also so I might be with the Ferd a while longer.

 

Takes us anywhere from 45 mins to an hour and 15 mins depending on how smoothly everything goes. That is from putting the truck up and only doing the bushing swap. He charges $50 an hour for labor. So sometimes it's quicker and sometimes not so much. During a lift install it only adds about 20 mins or so with putting in the gear oil.

Not a bad decision. My dad biught his 2005 DCLB brand new in 2005, it has 161k miles on it now, I'm guessing he isnt looking to trade in soon

I keep looking at GX470s. One would be so much more practical from a Giblet standpoint than my FJ. And I'm nearing 200k miles. On the other hand there's nothing wrong at all with the FJ. Just maintenance items here and there. And i like the way it drives. Plus it doesn't look like anything else on the road. And I own it and not making payments is clutch especially with 2 Giblets in daycare.

That's what I'm starting to realize. I wanted to trade the truck this year and look at new campers next year or the following year. I'd like to have the truck situated before looking at campers so I know what I can tow. That being said, my biggest draw back is the cap at this point. Worst case, I could be buying a new $1,500-$2,000 cap right after buying a new truck unless I can get really lucky on Craigslist.

Yea that would be rough to have to drop that much right after buying a new truck. I got my dad 5100's a couple Christmas's ago and gave him my TSB packs (never installed with my new frame). Got him a tint gift card last year for Father's Day. And he put in a new muffler last year (had a magnaflow, put on a flowmaster super44). So I'm guessing he wants to keep it

ECGS bearing and seal ordered last night, and got shipping confirmation/tracking number this morning that it'll be coming my way.

Yeah most of @tacobell007 Drew and I's conversations go something like this:

Him: Most of those are bullshit. And, <all the downsides>, but <one good reason>.
Him: I was planning on doing <basically the same thing, but smarter> to one of my dozen Tacomas.

He likes the tone of the Flowmaster better, which I do as well. My flowmaster lasted 4 years, and is now slowly letting go.
