Just wasn’t for me. I think I overhyped it, and was expecting it to be the best nights sleep I’ve ever had and the quickest set up and tear down. Honestly it’s no easier to set up than my ground tent IMO and now I can set up camp and continue to drive around.

It’s pretty nice. I swung by my campsite yesterday and pitched my tent and then drove around some more. That way I didn’t have to pitch it in the dark.

Oh yeah, and the fooking ladder. I hated that thing and having to climb in and out.

Yeah but yours is so small that it’s easy. Mines huge and requires a second set of hands.

Got some prices back from ATS spring. Its damn near comparable to Dakars in terms of price. here's his email to me

The first option leaf spring is a factory style (2/1) leaf spring rated at stock rating. The difference is that the leaf spring will have a 2" higher arch than factory. You will get the softer ride from the less leafs but should sit very close to where you are at now. The price per spring is $165.00 each and we can supply you with eye bolts, U-bolts, etc.

The second option is a slightly heavier option leaf spring (3/1) that will be a little firmer of a ride when compared to the first option but still nothing crazy when it comes to harshness of ride quality. This is going to be a very similar setup to what you have on there right now it terms of ride height and they would cost you $189.45 each.

If for some reason both options don't get you the height you want we can always supply you with new center bolts and you can re use the AAL you have on the old springs, not saying you will need to do that it is just a thought.

So for as long as I can remember, my steering has been a bit loose. I never really thought much of it, but I think it's steadily getting worse. It's at the point now where highway driving is a liiiiiitle bit sketchy. It's because the U joint in my intermediate shaft is starting to go, so I'm going to replace it (#6) as well as the yoke (#5).

In the video, you can see how much play there is in the steering wheel.

I'm jealous of your wheeler's stickers. I have the older style. Here's my stickers collection

I think Toyota sells 6 and 6 as one unit. I Might be wrong.

Let me know how this goes. I’ll have to replace mine as well.

Did you mean 6 and 5? When I swapped my rack and pinion, I had to remove these parts to remove the R&P, and remember them being two separate parts and have two separate p/n. I messaged Gunny to see how much it will be. I suspect around $175 for the two parts. It will be worth it to not wander around my lane on the highway.

I like my RTT. Still considering lowering it close to the bed to make it a little less of a climb to get in and out of.
