This just might be my favorite photo of the trip. This was Logan trying to get enough signal so he could keep his snap chat streak going. Y'all may understand the importance of that more than I do. I was just glad that for the biggest part of the weekend his face wasn't planted in the phone.

 

And you didn't say "...stand there while I climb this hill and "help" you get some altitude..."

Both of ours were at 90 degrees sticking straight out front after the flash flood trail... still cant figure out how

 

We are talking about putting a Trip Report together in the next few days so there should be tons of photos in it.
The different National Forest in Arkansas should definitely be more on our radars. From ATX you can be in the cool forested mountains in the same amount of time it takes to get to Big Bend.

Here's one more photo, got to save some for the Trip Report.

 

I drove him has high as I could. He could have climbed a little higher, and I did point that out to him, but it was pretty steep and I don't think he was up for that.

Seems like it was a soggy trip. Still jealous as hell.

 

Man.. I won't miss the next one. Just couldn't get that time off of work

What brand did you go with? And high clearance or just the standard one?

 

The drive there and the first night was rain and I mean a lot of rain. The actual first day on the trails was wet but in the afternoon it cleared up so the rest of the trip was pretty dry. My wife wasn't crazy about the rain but it definitely added to the trip.
The flash flood trail would have been a good trail any other time, but throw in a flooded creek that has turned into a fast flowing river right where you are supposed to come out and quickly rising water behind you and that good trail turns into . After your back on the main road of course.
When people say that flood waters rise quickly them F@$&kers Ain't Playing.
