New Taco owner needs Lift and tire size combo suggestions.

Whats up guys new to the Taco world and new to this site and have been doing lots of reading and have already learned a lot from you all so thanks.. I recently bought an 05 4dr PreRunner and am looking to get a more aggressive, meatier and more off road of a look into it without going to crazy. Pretty much decided on a 3'' lift by reading posts and was wondering what the best size tire would be to put on that for looks and practicality. Lots of guys run 265/70 or 75's would that be big enough on a 3'' lift? Then some guys recommended 285's but they seem a little to big for what im going for. Any suggestions, opinion or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

What size wheel do you have? IF its a 16' wheel then if you run 265/75-16s (32" tire basically) you'll have no issues with rubbing fenders, UCAs, etc. If you go the next size up, 33', you can count on having to trim fenders, or get aftermarket UCAs, or wheel-spacers/ offset wheels or a combination of all of those things.

You can look at my pictures to see 32s on a 2.25" lift. Honestly I think the 33s look a little better but I can't justify any headache/trimming for fitting a on-1 size-larger tire right now.

If you don't off road much, 33s and a 3" lift might just mean a little bit of rubbing at full steer and won't bug you that much. And If you don't mind trimming then who cares, go for it.

32s = 0 problems. 33's = likely rubbing.

Just for reference: I probably will up my lift to 3" (mines adjustable) when it's time for new tires and go with 33s...

 

X2! 33s look bad ass but you will do some trimming. 32s are a safer bet if you dont wanna trim

 

ok thanks for the input. i dont mind doing trimming but would rather not if i dont have to. And wouldnt mind saving the money buying 32's instead of 33's but just concerned with the look. Again i appreciate all the info

 

go with a 3 inch suspension lift and 33 inch tires, that is what i have on my 09 tacoma and the only rubbing i really have is at full turn forwards and back wards other than that it misses and it sound mean and looks mean as hell too...

 

285/75/16s fill out the fenders better with a 3'' lift but like they said theres trimming involved. 265/75/16s still look badass though and your mpg wont suffer as much
