As mild as the TRD exhaust is, it's stainless and mine is holding up perfectly we'll even with all the salt after 11+ years of use on the truck. It does sounds better now that the 2 rear cats are gone too though...

There is no exhaust that can help the hoover drone from the F150, but I do like rolling the windows down and listening to the turbos. :D

Fortunately the exhaust on the '69 sounds good enough that it almost makes up for the noises from the Ford. And the poor gas mileage :burnrubber:

Drew @tacobell007 I used to love the sound of the Dynomax super turbo muffler that I had on my old car. Problem is they didn't last long at all. You should take a look at the Stainless Works brand mufflers. All stainless and should sound good too

I've heard the high end units like Borla supposedly have no drone but they're like $1k!

I was so excited when I test drove a 2.7 and found out how quiet it is. It's nearly silent and that's very appealing to someone like me with the mind of a 70-year-old.

Generally speaking I do enjoy that you can't hear much from the cab; it's well-insulated for sound. But during the summer when I have the windows down I wish it made a better noise, lol.

Yeah, not worth it. The piped-in pretend sound isn't bad, for $1k.

Or even worse, one BIG stack, like 8 inches, not quite centered. :puke:

Yeah, but your GMC wasn't a small-displacement twin turbo V6, lol.

Nope, just some shit black paint came on the 44 series

I'd need to do research again simce it is a 4cyl and try to avoid the weedwhacker sound that a lot of 4cyl motors get. Black Widow makes some nice sounding exhausts but I haven't looked inti them too much

I didn't say you had to share the secrets!

That F150 made my Tacoma sound like it was built in 1960. The difference in noise levels was unbelievable.

I thought the pretend sound is only Lariat and up? I didn't get any noise out of the XLT I drove.

I'll just weld a 55 gallon metal barrel in the front of the bed, pipe the exhaust to it and get a smoke tune.

I thought the pretend noise was on the Ecoboost engines because they're otherwise really quiet. Ford does do a really good job sound proofing their cabs. I love how quiet they are if you need them to be. Windows up at highway speed I can use my Iphone on speaker and hear just fine.
