That was one of the cons on my set up was that it was so damn high, leading to a long ladder trip, harder set up, and higher center of gravity. If it was lower on some bed bars and I didn't have Tony, then it would have been a lot more appealing.

I'll let you know how it goes. Normally you wouldn't need to replace #5 but when installing my new R&P I fubar'd my current one. I think I just cross threaded the bolt. That's why I'm just going to get a new one, and new bolts to go with it.

Being so high up definitely has its cons. I should’ve bought the mid height voodoo rack instead of the tall. Would make it a lot easier to set up and take down.

Yeah it's a pain being that high. I had to bring a step stool to comfortably set mine up, and I'm 6' tall as it is.

I will trade you a mid height for your tall, if it isn't trashed

I’d really rather get a shell and put it on a EAF trailer but can’t find any cheap deals.

Couldn't you guys just swap the actual bars that determine height, and keep your own top and side pieces? That's where stuff get's mounted anyways

Mine has carried a couple kayaks and my tent for less than a year. I’ve got another set of crossbars for it. One is brand new and the other has some surface rust from where the powder coat was cracked during shipping.

I would be fine with doing that. Wouldn’t be too bad and I could leave my tent attached to my current bars.

Yes. I put those on Saturday. The guy I got them from already had them primed and coated in bed liner.
