Thanks! No lift. Yup, FN Countersteers with 265/75/16 Duratracs. Pelfrey sliders and skids. Still debating bigger tires n lift. Trail I was on had some overhanging branches that already scraped my roof.

Just took my 2 month old 2017 tacoma in for its first "problem." Last weekend I washed my truck and was about to wash my brothers so I jumped in my tacoma, turned it on, took off the brake, and put it in drive, NOTHING. The truck felt like it wanted to go forward but it didn't move. It almost felt identical to what it feels like to be in 4hi in a full turn locked out and it wants to move but doesn't (FYI I was in 2wd with my wheels facing forward). Eventually, after shifting back to park and drive a couple times and putting the brake on and off I was able to get it to move. However, ever since that day, the truck has been getting 3mpg less and the throttle feels much less responsive (even more than before ) It has also been gear hunting a whole lot more than normal while driving below 40 mph. I was convinced something was wrong so I dropped it off at my dealer and they said they checked EVERYTHING. Brakes, transmission, differential, fluids, the whole deal and NOTHING. I test drove with a service member and all of my complaints about the engine/transmission he said were totally "normal." It still feels like something is "holding the throttle back." The best way to explain it is that it seems like the parking brake is on, but it is not. I jacked up my front end and spun each wheel, then jacked up the back and threw it in neutral and spun both the back. So, nothing is binding in the drive shafts or wheels. Is this just another OCD or is the lowered mpg normal??

If the emergency brake is hanging up you would probably smell the the brakes cooking. Maybe next time you drive it and park it, reach in through the rear wheel and touch the brake drum and see if it’s real hot.
