That's sounds pretty good. Do you season/marinade the pork chops? Do the potatoes come out good?

Stir-Fry even easier than up above...my way is much faster and easier, albeit less fresh.

Purchase, frozen veggie mix (they come in stir-fry, harvest, peppers etc...get whichever one you like) pasta, pasta sauce and/or soy sauce/terriyaki sauce for variety, ground beef or boneless chicken breast.

    Step 1, boil water
step 2 - cut meat into bite size pieces
step 3 - add pasta to boiling water at the same time you add meat/veggies to large wok or skillet/sauce pan with soy sauce etc
step 4 - cook both pasta and meat/veggies for about 10 minutes (read box of pasta, make sure meat is cooked through)
step 5 - drain pasta, dump back into empty pot, add meat/veggies..season to taste with sauce, spices etc. stir...eat from pot.

cleanup - 1 strainer, 1 fork, 1pan...pot goes into fridge for leftovers yumm

WOW. sounds like there are a lot of single people responding here. Some good advice. My wife and I actually spend a lot of time at the grocery store. (We actually go to more than one sometimes for different items) Here's what I do:

We usually go once a week because we like eating fresh meats and vegetables. We also buy things that are organic, no preservatives, and basically nothing that is processed.

I usually start in the meat department too. I get a variety of chicken, pork, lamb, beef, and bison meat. What cuts are up to what you are in the mood for. I usually only buy steaks when i will eat them within 2 days. I never freeze good steaks, they get tough and lose some flavor IMO. and yes bison is very good for you, lots of lean protein right there.

I then hit up the vegetables. Again, we buy organic non-processed fresh stuff, so we get small portions, but get enough variety for the whole week. These range from brocolli, brocollini, asparagus, beets, green beans, squash (wide varieties), lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, bell and chilli peppers. These are the usual suspects in my fridge, and then I add in seasonals.

I then move on to any starches I might want. usually this is a bag of russett potatoes, and rice. I like to mix in wild rice with regular rice. We also mix in sweet potatoes. This is where i pick up some pasta too, and any sauces you might want with it.

After that I'm pretty much done. Just make sure to pick up eggs and breakfast meat. The final thing I do is pick up snacks. I get some bison jerky, chips, assortment of nuts to make a trail mix. This is the time i also use to replenish any condiments, drinks, toiletries, or cleaning products i might need.

definitely go down every isle like someone else suggested. you'll find something you forgot about or that you really want to try.

just remember that your shopping habits will reflect your eating habit, and your overall health. you keep pumping frozen, processed, instant meals in your body and you'll start to notice after a while, especially as you get older. I spend a lot of time at the store because i read A LOT of labels. Make sure it doesn't read like a science experiment when you read the ingredients. For example..... my chips, 3 ingredients: corn, salt, and sunflower oil.

    A good side dish.

    Lemon Sage Potatoes

    1 bag red potatoes
    2-3 lemons
    packet of fresh sage
    1 carton of chicken stock

Red potatoes, cut up into even chunks.
Bring pot of chicken stock(chicken stock pre packaged) & juice from 1 lemon to a boil. Add potatoes. Boil till tender. Drain.
Put in a bowl, add 1 tsp of lemon zest(use a grater to get the zest)(zest is the outside skin of a lemon, not the white part),Pour fresh squeezed lemon juice over potatoes from 1-2 lemons, Chop some fresh sage add to bowl. You can use basil instead of sage if you would like. Both ways are great. Salt & pepper to taste.

If you want it more lemony, add more zest and or lemon juice.

A dab of sour cream on the side is good also.

what I do is I brown the ground beef, throw in some chopped onions, and dump in a can of tomato sauce, then sprinkle in all your favorite spices....simmer covered for 20-25 minutes and serve with bread or pasta.
