A tent will not keep you or them any warmer. A tent is solely designed to keep you out of the rain/snow/bugs. Put em in the bed, they did come from wolves after all

This is a great idea, with a crate like that, inside the cab shielded from elements, AND a wool blanket the dogs are gonna be MUCH warmer than you'll ever be lol.

If I take them camping below zero I'm def borrowing this idea.

Its a great way to travel too.. keeps them safer than just riding in the back in case I have to slam on the brakes or worse! All my other dogs used to ride shotgun.... this is much safer and they are more comfortable. Take em for a 10hr drive, stop for gas - water and a pee.. back in the saddle. Done.

Dogs came from wolves.... well that's kinda right... people came from worms, shouldn't we just dig a hole and jump in..back to nature and all?

Considered getting her onto the hood, then on the top of the cab, and from there into the RTT? Maybe some carpeting scraps to protect the paint... Pretty dog :)

80 lbs on the taco hood = a dented hood for sure. But spreading the weight with something more ridgid than carpet may work.

Actually it is your sleeping pad and bag. I have only slept on glaciers, but what do I know...

In a 4 season tent you actually have all the windows and usually the door open to prevent condensation from building up. If you don't, you get wet, if you get wet you get cold and die.

Animals and toddlers dont come anywhere near my vehicles. It' a strict policy that also extends to stoners and people who can't wait to get home to eat their Big Mac.

It is a German Shepard, I would give it shelter. I have been with military working dogs in extreme heat and cold, labs and German Shepards. We have picked them up and carried then far distances and I would not expect an everyday person to do that and not one that their job is to work out. The dog may be able to do it but it is not a husky. In the middle of the night it probably won't be very comfortable. I would put something together in the truck even just a couple blankets.

My wife and I have a 70 lb basset hound and a shepard puppy. We put them in a portable crate separate of course then lift and do a hand off at the door of the RTT. Seems to work it took them a little bit before they got used to it.

A good freind keeps an original shiny orange Bronco in pristine condition in his carpeted garage. There’s a couch and big screen TV facing it and a coffee table too. Its the most offroad that truck will ever see in its lifetime.

Apparently not much lol. Maybe go brush up on basic physics terms like "radiation/convective heat transfer" then lookup something called "wind chill" THEN try to come and tell me a tent doesn't help keep you warm

You're not the only one that's slept on glaciers bear grylls I was literally born on Mt Rainier ;)

Most of my friends just lug them in, then have them jump out.

    Maybe a pupper winch?

    God damnit, people.

    Shepherd, not Shepard.

The dogs HERD sheep, not ARD them. Imbeciles!
