It isn't even a speedy thing, it's literally that initial 2 feet the truck travels that is touchy, otherwise the throttle is beautiful from 5% throttle in 1st through all percentage of all gears. Don't change anything other than that very initial jumpiness Mat!

I often fail to reset that thing. It’s a pretty useless feature.

It would be cool to see a drag race video between an OVTuned truck and stock tuned truck!

No a race between an OVtune truck and all the people that think their sprintboosters actually increase horsepower. Maybe give them a dose of humility.

Im sure @dYL0n would do it. Someone on the fence about the tune should go race.

    This.

I dont have a single thing against the SB or PC. They're good products and they do what they're supposed to do; they do improve the drivability of the truck. While I support being enthusiastic about your modifications to your vehicle, it does get annoying when people will swear until blue in the face that the SB and similar products are superior because of price and results, while simultaneously being ignorant of how it works, the differences and benefits of the SB vs a real tune, and the real crime here, refusing to be open minded enough to learn and accept that information.

Ignorance because of lack of knowledge is one thing. It's how we all learn. Turning a blind eye simply because it's not your mod of choice and you don't want to hear it, that's a different story.

A race is cool and all but the main value of this tune isn't speed, however nice it is to have that power on tap. It's the superior drivability when compared to the stock tune. I think to really convince somebody, have them drive an OVT Tacoma.

I don’t know anybody locally with a new taco. But I’d do it!

I’m still on the fence about 1.03.

    You preferred 1.02? I didn't have it...straight to 1.03.

I need more driving time on 1.03. But over 200 miles and I’m not satisfied with highway driving.

It’s not the tunes fault. It’s Toyota.

I'll second this. The tune is perfect, with exception to the initial throttle input which is very edgy. On low traction surfaces, it makes it very difficult to not break traction. Other than that, the tune is great IMO. I would think that should be an easy fix.

EDIT: This is coming from a bone stock 2016 4x4 TRD OR - I'm all but certain results will vary with larger tires.

I also spend a lot of time on the highway, with wind, and was hoping for a bit more improvement in that area. That said, it is better and shifts nicely. A little bit of wind really effects this truck.

I dont have mine yet so I dont know, but if you were driving on snow can you put it in S2 and start out in second for better traction or does it just default into 1st? When I was living in Colorado I did this very frequently with my Ford because I couldn't go anywhere in 1st gear.

Not trying to be a smart ass but maybe y’all are just used to smashing the throttle to get your truck going and the solution to the initial throttle response on 1.03 is to use less skinny pedal....

I’ve only got 25 miles in the 87 tune but really like the response from 0 throttle all the way up

When you place the transmission in S2, S3, Etc. it will shift up to and hold at that gear. It wont however start in second gear.

damn, that feature sure would be handy in low traction situations. but again, I guess thats what 4HI and 4LO are for.

I understand if you still want more out of the tune, but to me the highway driving has been dramatically improved with 1.03 in my opinion. I wasn't so much of a fan with 1.02 that I would use ETC. Did you prefer 1.02 to 1.03?

I haven't noticed anything harsh initially either. (87 tune)

I'm sure you are getting a similar feel to what I am out of yours... All the additional weight we are carrying around and larger tires is probably dulling the edginess they are talking about.
